Hey there,

I don't know anything about the funding for Columbia's Counseling program, but I interviewed for their clinical program (which is actually through Teacher's College) last year and they did not offer guaranteed funding. From what the current students said, there were some small pots of money that students could duke it out for on a yearly or semesterly basis, the occasional paid practicum, etc...but I was told that they all basically take out loans to cover tuition/living expenses.

Good luck!

Does it usually take graduate admissions a long time to let us know what materials they got (by notifying us on a check status sort of thing on the website)? I sent my supplemental materials in to UMASS Boston 3 weeks ago but they haven't updated it online, although they posted that they got my letter of recommendation a few days ago. I don't know why they updated the recent addition but not the one I sent a few weeks back...It makes me wonder if they lost it? 😕

I'm having the same problem with Marquette. I think I'm just going to call them and see what's up.

I am having that same problem with UMass. I called the office twice to see if I should re-send stuff that they should have received in early November (i.e. transcripts). They said to just be patient and they most likely have it in my file but just not updated yet. They won't check status for you via phone. I think we just have to trust that they received it and if they didn't, that they will give applicants the opportunity to re-send things once they have everything straightened out. It sounds like they are a bit overwhelmed at the moment.

I JUST got my UMass Boston status updated online today (and I was actually missing a form I didn't even know we were supposed to send in, so now I'm freaking out about that one but I sent it in today and emailed a scanned copy too, just in case). I sent my application express so it was there 11-26-11, so if they do anything in order, they should have updated yours as well... but it doesn't sound like they do it in order, so I would just wait a little longer...

Yeah, I don't think they do it in order either. If you don't mind my asking, did it say all your stuff was in? What form was missing? My application status was also updated today, but things that I mailed in weeks ago still aren't reflected on the website. I'm positive they got it because I got a tracking number for the package. I guess I'll have to wait it out.

Well, the things missing before today was everything I sent in in my packet (SOP, GPA summary, CV, etc.) so they entered all of that when they opened the envelope I suppose. The form missing was the personal disclosure form. Honestly, I didn't see it as a requirement anywhere when I was applying, and usually those types of questions are included in the online app, but apparently not for UMB. I had to search for it for a while on the website before I found it, so I sent it in today (not express, I figured it was already late...) and then I scanned it and emailed it as well. I hope they won't throw my app in the trash! Did all the rest of you applying to UMB send in the personal disclosure form? I can't believed I didn't see it when I applied. So stupid of me!

Ps. I will update the list in an hour or so 🙂

I applied to UMB. Called the admissions people when I saw that my personal disclosure form was missing. They told me that they forgot to add it into the online application, so basically everyone who applied online wouldn't have known to send it in. She said just fax/mail it over whenever, there isn't really a deadline on that. Just get it in within the next few weeks.

Ah ok, that makes sense, I was starting to think that I must have just made a huge mistake in the online app or something like that. I'm glad they'll accept it whenever and that I sent it in yesterday 🙂.

List is updated! 🙂

On the intended emphasis inquiry, I briefly reviewed my current interests. It was optional to answer so I am hoping this does not hurt my application? Also curious of how realistic it is that UofD could possibly review that many applications in a "holistic" fashion. Thoughts?
