It's how you weed us out, naturally. No I'm actually looking for something different, and challenging. You get too comfortable in California, it's time to move on with some seasons. Plus, everywhere I've gotten in is in a cold climate, so I'm going to have to man up either way.

If you go to this school, where are you guys planning to live, nearby or in the city?

Yea, it is definitely doable. Chicago more than makes up for it's cold winter with a wide range of other attractions. Also, the school is in the city. If you mean the city as in the downtown loop area, you could do that if you wanted. If I go to Rush, I will live as close to campus as possible. Commuting in this city is dreadful.

I will be applying to Rush next year and it is one of my very top choices! Sorry to bud into you guys' application thread but I was wondering if the Rush secondary changes from year to year?

I'm trying to get a feel for the secondary when I will be applying and was hoping when I apply it will be similar to this year's.

I think the secondary has been pretty consistent. Good luck next year- this process is hard but the rewards are huge.

As a reapplicant who rode a wyvern previously, I would suggest you switch to a pegasus. They tend to be received better by admissions committees. Though, really, if you're a strong applicant, you shouldn't be discriminated against for your choice of airborne mount. It's just that pegasi are underrepresented in medicine.
 
In one of the emails from Rush, they say they interview 370 people for a matriculating class of 128. Does anyone know how many they accept? (From the MSAR, maybe. I don't have a copy).

Good luck Ormm! I interviewed at Rush this month and actually managed to have a good time despite being really nervous! Have fun! 😀

Thanks! The interview went really well 🙂. The staff made sure to keep it low stress, the interviewers were extremely friendly and their new hospital looks amazing!

I interviewed on 10/26 as well and haven't heard back. 5 weeks and going...
 
A trend that I noticed is that they release decisions on Fridays. Hopefully you guys will hear next Friday or even before.

This is true. I was there this week for an interview, and if I remember correctly, the committee meets on Wednesday and acceptances are sent on Fridays.

At the Recruitment Day, Jill said that she only sends notices on Friday (I think she said around 4 or 5 pm).

Complete since 8/22. Happy with the interviews I've had so far but would love to visit Rush (seems like I hear only good things from everyone here on SDN).

Too bad Rush interview so few OOSers...

Yea I don't remember her saying that on my interview day, but, then again, I was pretty sick for mine haha. I was just going off the trend I saw on SDN.

I don't think it is publicized, but they handed it out on our interview day. It looked pretty good in my opinion- it had some ROAD matches at prestigious programs and was overall well-distributed.

Anyone know how Rush goes about rejections for those who have NOT interviewed? Is it a silent rejection or are we notified?
 
I was just recently waitlisted here and am absolutely devastated. This is definitely my top choice school. Is there any hope for the waitlist? Are waitlisters re-reviewed before May? Any recommendations about what I should do to convince them in the meantime? Thanks 🙁

I'm curious too. I completed in late september/early october and haven't heard anything since. I would love an interview from them

Given that interview invites go out until March, it is not a silent rejection.
 
Accepted today at around 4:30 EST. I interviewed on the 11/9!! So excited! :soexcited:
 
Is it possible to contest an admission decision (post-interview)?

I was complete at the end of August and still haven't heard anything either. I REALLY wanted an II here. I don't expect to hear anything else until after the holidays though. :xf:
