So every couple of weeks/3 weeks more pre-offers are sent out? Is that right?

Haha good to know. Post here what they say. I will call tomorrow also. When I got time today it was already past 5.

So I called and she said we should email back saying whether we accept or reject by Nov. 20. The hard copy is due Nov. 30 and we should send it to Office of Admission, State Highway 47, Bryan.

So we email now, and send off the forms by the 30th?

Still waiting for an interview. I have pretty much given up hope for this cycle.

Does anyone know if this school has passed out MD/PhD acceptances yet?

Did anyone go to the dinner Friday night? I wanted to but had to be out of town this weekend :/ Trying to schedule a second look at Bryan to check out the other campus!

You need to see Bryan. The campus is fantastic.

A friend of mine was in your shoes, and upon seeing the bryan campus, fell inlove with it

Have you guys received the official packet in the mail yet?

I called the office today and they said that they had sent out the packets already, but since it's going through campus it can take awhile.

I got it Saturday 🙂

Is there anything in the packet that we need to return and what is the deadline? I haven't received mine yet and I am worried about missing the deadline and have my acceptance removed 😀 ( I already email about accepting the offer, though).

I called the office and she said it can take awhile 🙁.

P.S. When you guys emailed about accepting the offer, did they reply ?

I received an acceptance email Nov. 15 and my BAMF status changed to accepted. I Responded to the email accordingly. I just checked BAMF and my status now is under review. Has anybody expereinced this?

Just checked and mine still says "Accepted". Maybe shoot them an email to see what's up?

They didn't e-mail me back. If you're getting antsy about the deadline, you can print out the acknowledgment form from the acceptance e-mail, fill it out, and turn it in that way.

Hey guys, congrats to everyone who got accepted over the past couple weeks and to everyone else still waiting don't give up hope! I'm one of the students who deferred last year and wanted to let you all know that we have a facebook group for the class of 2016 if any of you are pretty sure you're planning on joining us. Here's a link to the group: http://www.facebook.com/groups/109953499088008/

If that doesn't work you can also try searching for Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine: Class of 2016. Good luck everyone!

Got my packet today attached was someone elses acceptance packet too=\

My status changed to "Under Review" as well...maybe a glitch. I have already turned in the acknowledgement form (in person) and sent an email accepting the offer.

I just received an interview. I've been complete since June 1, so this came as a complete suprise.

Ahh...Uhmmm my status went from accepted to under review 😱

II received 11/29 for 12/8/11 in Temple, complete since August. Pretty stoked to return to TX.

How many people are usually at each interview date? If my parents were coming with me, can they come with me to the interview (since it's an all day event)? Also, will there be anything going on after 5 PM? What's the general schedule for the day of the interview? This is my first and only med school interview, so I'm worried and nervous!

Thanks!

Hey, first thing is relax! On my interview day, the admissions staff went to great lengths to make me feel welcomed and relaxed. My two interviewers had my file out and had specific questions to ask me that were related to my application. I wanted to note that none of the other candidates brought their parents with them on the interview day, so maybe you should contact admissions to see if that is appropriate. If they welcome parents, just know that you might be the only one so don't be surprised. For information on possible questions and what different applicants thought of the interview process, check out this page http://studentdoctor.net/schools/school/tamushsc-com/survey/26#question_overflow_112. For me, the interview day included presentations on the curriculum, what A&M has to offer, financial aid, there was a tour of the local hospital, a lunch question and answer session with a student panel. The interviews took place in the afternoon. I hope that helps and good luck! 🙂 :xf:

Sorry, I didn't answer all your questions! For my interview, there were about 20 applicants and the day ended right after my second interview which finished around 5:15. If for some reason you need to leave earlier, make sure to let the admissions office know before your interview day because they'll hand you your schedule as soon as you arrive in the morning. Okay, good luck again!

Do your parents go with you to classes too?

@ Sonyfan08, from what I hear, if you're accepted at A&M the school welcomes you to take another tour of the campus where you interviewed, and/or the campus you're most interested in. That might be the best time to bring your parents 😉

Definitely do not bring your parents for the interview day. However--although I have interviewed at Texas A&M yet-- my experience at interview days in general has been that everyone from the school does their absolute best to make you feel welcome there. Remember that the school is to an extent trying to sell itself to you--freaking out isn't necessary. :luck:

can any current 3rd or 4th years at temple or college station talk about how life is like during 3rd and 4th years? I have seen the schedule or rotations, but could anyone talk more specifically about hours per day and general responsibilities/involvement

How do u know which campus u will go to for years 1 and 2?? Do you tell them your preference?

You set your preference for which track you want after match day I believe..ie 4 years at CStat/Bryan ,4 years at Temple, or 2 years at Cstat/Bryan and 2 years elsewhere.

I just recently learned about SDN and can't believe I haven't been following this all semester! Has anyone received a pre-match offer after they originally came out on 11/15? Or is anyone aware when the next batch of prematch offers are going out? I checked last years thread and found some went out on 12/7 and then the final prematch offers went out right around 12/20-22. Also if anyone pre-matched after 11/15, when did you interview?

I know schools are being more conservative with pre-matches this year, so I don't know what to expect.

It seems that some schools might be releasing a few offers every week, while others are sending out batches every few weeks or so. I would think they surely release more offers before the end of the prematch period- but I'm not on the admissions committee so don't quote me lol. Good luck and hope you hear soon!

I contacted admissions last and they told me that they couldn't give any information on when the next batch of pre-match offers are going out. December 7th last year was a Tuesday, so we'll see what happens this year. Good luck!

Hi everyone, new to posting on SDN! Pre-matched 11/15, TX resident, interviewed at Temple and went to the pre-match dinner in Bryan. Quick question: I heard that A&M had the highest step 1 scores out of any TX school last year from a current student. I feel like something that big would've gotten a little more emphasis (and I didn't hear it from anyone else), so could anyone confirm that? It's obviously not a make-or-break, but I think it'd be worth knowing.

That didn't happen.
