Interviewing next week. Can anyone comment on content/ tone of their interview? Anything in particular they seem to emphasize as an institution that would be valuable to mention?
Dang this is a tough year!Rejectamundo came. Complete about 6 weeks ago. Submitted late August. OOS 35/3.7
they're really laid back. be prepared to answer "why new orleans?" and go do something touristy if you've never done it before so you can show you've actually experienced something of NO besides the airport.

Hey guys I'm an OOS from Cali and have yet to turn in my secondary...28Q and a 3.6...should I even bother? 125 bucks is a little steep for a rejection letter
Rejected? Your MCAT score blows mine out of the water and I don't even know if I want to apply here...hey if it was me I'd let you in lol
My ex lives there. Does that count? 😀It's tough out there. I'm from Minnesota, and don't have any ties to the region whatsoever. I'm thinking that was likely the dealbreaker.
Tulane is private, so residency shouldn't be a factor. I think I remember one student calling it UC New Orleans because of the amount of CA residents they have.

They also said that CA and LA are tied for most represented state. I don't think it's an accident that Louisiana is one of the most represented states. I wouldn't be surprised if they had some deal worked out to get state funding by having so many Louisianans, but are keeping it quiet.
~All schools, public or private, have more matriculants from the state they're located than any other state.

I know, it's just like, obviously they've got some objective of training doctors that will stay in the state, so they'd pick more from that state. But I think if residency or connection was no issue, Louisiana would not be so well represented.
I think a lot of it can be explained by the fact that residents are not only more likely to apply, they are more likely to be familiar with the area and the school and to speak convincingly about why they want to stay in that area and at that school.
Yes, and more likely to matriculate after acceptance.
Yep! They talk about why they want to stay in the area and it turns out many of them actually mean it. 😉

I would call. Suzanna is really nice.
That worked out well! She said I'd be getting the official email later this week most likely for my II! Hooray!
I'd save my money.

Congrats to everyone accepted!
I'm curious if they reject post-interview or how they notify you if you're on the acceptable range list...I interviewed way back in October and still have not heard any sort of reply. Checked spam folders, etc. etc. Should I give them a call? It seems that they let you know your decision pretty quick, so I'm assuming I wasn't accepted right off the bat.
