I just got a call from the Admissions Director. I got in!
Has anyone got any email/snail mails about how to reserve a spot yet? I think we need to pay a deposit...

I got the letter and I don't remember reading anything about a deposit.

What I do remember is that you have to go to the "applicant" site that they initially gave you to fill out your secondary, in order accept the offer and authorize a background check

Congratulations!!! 🙂

So last year, after calling about acceptances they sent a letter in the mail with directions on how to go online to accept your spot. Also, I don't recall having to pay a deposit...

(Edit: from what GS just posted, seems like it's the same process this year too!)

Big congratulations! When was your interview?

haha I second this. I think you and I shouldn't hear until at least mid November though ixz. I can't seem to settle down and wait though lol

I guess so. But I'm just not patient enough! lol

Aaaah! Got the call from Dean Zic! Vanderbilt is amazing - so honored to be accepted 🙂

Congrats! When did you interview?

Just a request to those accepted, seeing how you will be asked this question AND we are all neurotically calculating when we should here back, please just answer it with the "I'm accepted" post.

I preemptively thank you! 🙂

Damn, it looks like I am going to miss the boat on this one, if you guys interviewed during the middle of September, too. 🙁

There's no way my file wouldn't have been reviewed yet. I'm just hoping it's on hold/rereview instead the reject/notify later pile.

Wishing I had interviewed earlier (was there Oct 3rd)! Waiting until November is rough!

how about interviewing on the first week in mid aug and not hearing back yet like me. now that's rough

Similar: Interviewed 9/6 and no news. 🙁

Guys, I'm sure sometimes people who interviewed before get accepted later than those interviewed later. Please don't give up! Fingers crossed for all of u guys on Vandy!

In last year's thread, some guy who interviewed in August didn't get the acceptance call until mid-November - and he was sure he was toast!

If it helps, at my interview, they said all files are kept in review throughout the admissions season, so don't lose hope. This early in the cycle, they are probably a bit parsimonious about acceptances, but as the bulk of the interviews conclude, they might become more generous with the offers as they become increasingly aware of the quality of the applicant pool. At least that's my take.

Here's what I heard on my interview day. They send out acceptances ten times between Oct 15 and mid-March. Each time they give them to the top 20 applicants in their pool that haven't already been accepted.

According to USNWR data, Vandy sent 285 acceptances last year. Some of that extra 85 was in the waitlist probably, but I doubt they took 85 off the waitlist. It's unclear whether they're more "generous" (in quantity or quality) early or later; I see arguments for both sides. Several of the students we met were not accepted until January or later, two or more months after they interviewed.

Nothing to worry about! I interviewed first day last year and didn't hear back till late October too. So just give them some more time. If you're worried, give the admissions office a quick call and ask about the status of your application. That also shows that you're still very interested in the school. It might just be a coincidence but I called a week or so after October 15th to ask and then several days later, I got the call from dean zic!

Me too! Interviewed the first week and nothing...

Anyone else out there with a long delay on having heard back for an interview invite/secondary?

I was complete/primary received ~8/15 and it's been radio silence from Vandy since then (10+ weeks vs the 6-8 weeks to decision mentioned in the email from Dr. Sagen). Thoughts? I'm just hoping something hasn't gotten lost in the shuffle.

AMCAS complete first week of October... *Crickets on the secondary front

SAME EXACT DATE/SITUATION! No rejection letter in the mail either (thankfully). I'm too afraid to call/email.

+1

I know I shouldn't be neurotic about it but it's probably going to take 4-6 weeks for them to reach a decision on the secondary.

Yeah, Vandy marked as received my primary on 9/20 and still no word. I'm just now approaching 6 weeks.

However, my roommate was marked on the same day and received a secondary over a week ago...this process is just unpredictable.

Does anyone know if Vanderbilt accepts file updates after an II but before the interview? If so, in what format? Thank you!

Hey, I just called in about II status since I'm currently in Week 11 after submission. They said I am still under review and some applications are taking as long as 14 weeks to get through. Hopefully this provides some additional info for those who are still waiting to hear back.

Thanks for the update.

Has anyone who has already interviewed been rejected or waitlisted?

Anyone heard about acceptances lately? Seems to be all quiet on the Vandy front recently...

I'm neurotically waiting for a response too! But since they only send out acceptances ten times during the cycle, it's probable that they send out twice a month. I guess they won't give out info till mid-November or next week at least. Pure guess...

Last year it looks like they called a lot of people around mid-November, so guessing that's one of the "ten times?" Hope so!:xf:

I am currently working on the secondary, and I have a question about entering courses on the application. My school integrates our labs into our classes, so my transcript only shows the course and not the lab. On the application, should I enter in the labs as if they were separate classes or should I enter just the courses that show up on my transcript?

You could write them like you do on AMCAS, with the "with lab" added onto the official title on the transcript. Pretty sure I did that with a few of my courses that have lecture/lab combined.

I got the survey this morning. What does it mean?...What does it mean?!?!
