I literally just got my rejection from Vanderbilt. I was expecting it so the blow wasn't too bad. I hope you fare better than me! I am also waiting on Memphis VA. At least I got an interview from West Haven Va this morning! 1-1 today.

Good job on the West Haven VA! I don't think anyone has heard from Memphis, so we're still good. I just got my rejection from Vanderbilt too, but it's all good--if I had to schedule Vanderbilt, I wouldn't have room for Memphis (or Houston).

Things are going to work out, folks! Remember so much of this is based on minute details that whatever happens, I think of it as destiny. 🙂

Yeah, especially if the email was personalized. Are you at the beginning, middle, or end of the alphabet?

My last name starts with "R."

I don't think you had to indicate a track, so don't worry.

Yup. Mass e-mail rejection 🙁 Really bummed about that one. I mean...I'm thrilled with the interviews I have thus far and I'm still waiting on two others but...that site was awesome! Congrats on the interview!!! 👍

what about the primacy effect? 😛

I'm worried about the primacy effect 🙁 One of my sites offered me an interview on a date I couldn't come but I was able to reschedule for a different date. Now I'm coming all by myself (it seems they only had one main interview date) over TWO WEEKS after everyone else goes. I'll have the recency effect no doubt but I'm worried that they'll already start to think about ranking all the applicants they've seen before I even get there since I'm coming so much later 🙁 I'm sure they won't submit their ranking list before I get there but...how can you not think about where you might rank people after you've seen 90+% of them?

A classmate of mine has received an interview; she's been applying to health psych concentrations thus far, so I'm not sure if Charleston differentiates between health psych and BMed, or if they're the same track.

FYI - just now got an invite from Watson! 🙂 It was sort of personalized (the e-mail was sent to me individually but was otherwise a generic invite). I'm now 7-7-1-1. 7 invites, 7 rejections, 1 site withdrew from the match, and still waiting on 1 (FSGC). Good luck!!!

Keeping my fingers crossed... so far it's three rejections today (Children's Primary, Vanderbilt and Tennessee - St. Jude's)

Total count so far is 5 interviews, 7 rejections

I will be doing the couple's match with my boyfriend and had one main question: should we tell the sites that we are interviewing with that we are a couple? I'd love any advice! Thank you for offering!

My husband I did couples match last year and it worked out - we actually matched at the same site. We each applied to about 14 sites, some of which were the same site, some of which were in the same city, and some that were far away from any sites our partner was applying to (but decided that if it was a good fit to go for it anyway).

For those couples of you out there, if you have any questions regarding things to say (or not to say) at interviews, or just any questions about the process in general, I'm happy to answer them! Good luck everyone!

Ha, me too. And I read this statement aloud to my husband. Real nice... but if after all the effort we put into these applications, a TD can't put enough time into his ONE rejection letter to let us know *politely* that he's unable to answer questions... then it's probably not the site for me!

Thats fine frankly, but its so much nicer when sites at least attempt to convey empathy, warmth, and/or understanding of the process. In fact, I did not apply to a couple sites because of the sheer coldness and/or forboding nature of their brochures. Conversely, one site whom I never would have really thought about totally "sold me" just based on their amazingly persoanlized and warm site description. That place is now in my top 3!

I think that's a fairly standard statement to make in rejection notices; I've seen it in at least three of my rejections, and I also remember seeing it when applying to grad school.

I have been told twice by sites that they cant interview me do to limited dates and space but that they WILL be ranking me based on my "strong application." I had no idea sites did this, and if i would have hit delete immidiately, I wouldnt have bothered to rank them.

Regarding Illinois:

I would get in touch with the TD if you don't hear anything by Wednesday. I heard last week. Ended up getting 2 interviews out of the 4 tracks I applied to.

Has anyone heard from Illinois School Psychology Internship consortium? They were suppose to send out acceptance/rejections by the 10th and I am still waiting to hear...??? Thanks! 🙂

I read something relatively similar in one of my rejection messages. Thus, I fully plan on ranking every site to which I've applied, given that to the best of my knowledge, there really are no penalties for doing so. I'll of course rank sites where I've interviewed first, but non-interviewed sites will nonetheless be on my list somewhere.

I finally got an interview!!!!!! 😀 Got an email (generic) from the Central Virginia Consortium for Clinical Psychology. At least I have 1 interview! Still waiting to hear from 13 sites. I figured I would have heard more by now! I guess the next 2 days will be busy!

I heard from atlanta va via email (for interviews) about a week or two weeks ago.

Today was a banner day in suck-town for me. Three rejections (so far) today: University of Michigan CC, University of Illinois-Chicago CC, and University of Akron CC. 🙁

Contrats to those who got interviews there. I'm still waiting on 13 more sites, but my ratio essentially flipped as I'm now at 5 interviews and 7 rejections. Here's hoping there's some good coming soon!

I have an interview with Atlanta VA. I was notified on Dec. 6th. The TD said they were only interviewing 18 people. There were 3 dates in January. Hope this helps.
