Did the SFVA call or email? I am still waiting to hear from them and had given up hope.

As for the Sierra Nevada VA, they historically send out invited on the 15th so I am putting off feeling stressed about that one.

If you don't mind my asking...how did FSGC contact you? (ie: phone call, mass e-mail, personalized e-mail) That's the very last one I'm waiting on! 😳
 
Asheville va invites went out last week. Got a phone call from the td in friday. Dates are 1/5 and 1/12.

Also, got a rejection from st Louis va today. It was probably the nicest rejection possible which just makes me want the site even more :cry:

They called. I had already prepared myself for a rejection so it was a wonderful surprise. 🙂
 
2 rejections today, and a friend was rejected from Lexington prison and Florida State Hospital.

Bummer...heard from Northern Cali VA (BIG REJECTION) and I wish they had emailed me sooner!!!!! It still stings. O well.

Had my first interview today at a VA and people were so incredibly nice and friendly and pleasant! I couldn't help but love them. Even though they're not a research site and they're not highly competitive, they just seem to take care of their interns (e.g., yell at them when they stay in the office past 5pm!). Boy, I really want a place like that.
 
finally some good news! i got an interview offer at Texas State University in San Marcos!👍
 
I am still waiting to hear from Hazelden and Greystone Park, too. A classmate of mine stated she received an invite from Hazelden last week. 😕

Rejections from Florida State Hosp and FL Dept of Corrections (they are only interviewing 16 people (of 109 applicants!). Here's hoping tomorrow brings good news for everyone :luck:

As someone who did their internship training at a VA (and at a site that strongly discouraged anyone working later than 4:30-5:00pm), it was wonderful. I did all of my reading and some prep at home, though it was far more work/life friendly than most of the academic medical centers (AMC) I looked at. I am at an AMC now, and it is a lot different. :laugh:
 
Finally.

I received two interview offers today after 7 rejections.

I was offered an interview at the Milton Hershey School through a general, probably mass, email.

I was also offered an interview for the BRAINS-DeVos Training Consortium for the Ottawa CMH position in Michigan. It's not APA or near my ideal location (my husband is in law school in DC), but it's near my home town and it's not super competitive. I honestly applied this morning and got an interview invite this afternoon. It's child/family focused and I'm not really picky at this point, so I'm happy.

9 to go!
 
It sounds like interview offers have been extended for Yale Chid Study Center's Peds and Trauma tracks. Has anyone heard any news for the Early Childhood Track? Also, has anyone heard from Temple Health Sciences?

Heard from LIJ on 11/19 (generic email) and Jesse Brown VA last Fri (12/10; personal email) - both for NP tracks.
 
Got an invite from Salisbury (Hefner) VA today! I am excited! Also, got invites from Denver health and Hutching Psychiatric; I think others mentioned the last two already. Rejection from Fl Dept of Corrections - IsItOver - looks like you an I are in synch today!
Someone was asking about St. Elizabeths. I heard from them mid-last week.

I received an e-mail rejection from Southern Illinois University CC (in addition to U of Akron CC and U of Maine CC, both previously mentioned). 5 interviews, 3 rejections.

Something tells me that even after the 15th, I will still have a handful of sites that I haven't heard from. Which is supremely unfortunate.

WHo knows 🙂 Most of the sites notify applciants on the 15th, according to the last year thread. However beginning morning of the 16th you don't have to wait impatiently and quietly any longer. You have legitimate rights to email to all of those sites immediately on Thursday am and hold them accountable by reminding about your existence! Unless of course their official deadilne is after the 15th.
I found it interesting that last year someone warned the forum about Wayne State U - that they frequently forget to notify people about interviews, because they are very busy, and the TD is a bit absent-minded but absolutely a great person who welcomes inquiries from the applicants. So... I guess someone can select you for an interview and forget about it.. Then you email them and you get a nice surprise. Best of luck!

Ha I guess so! Congrats on your interviews. Did you contact the secretary for Hutchings? I left her a VM but haven't heard back. 😕

One of my classmates got an offer for Peds and/or Trauma on Friday, and I gave up hope when I didn't hear anything. BUT I got an offer for the Early Childhood Track this morning! Guess sometimes it's worth holding out hope! 🙂

For those of you who applied to Hazelden, I emailed the TD yesterday because their deadline passed on the 10th. Here is the response I got back....

"We are in the process of mailing notification letters and you should be receiving a response by the end of the week."
 
Noooooooooooooooooo! 48 hours before my first interview and I'm getting a massive cold!!! :scared:

Anyone have any particular medicine they find to be helpful for colds?? (sore throat, stuffy nose, cold feels like it's behind my nose/eyes/forhead) Didn't sleep well at all last night 👎 Pretty sure I'm gonna max out on the amount of cold medicine I can legally get in one day 😛 Anyway...if you have any tips on good medicine (or at least something that would help me feel functional), I'm all ears!!! Probably going to get some AM stuff (to help keep me relatively alert) and some PM stuff (for sleep).
 
Rejection from College of William & Mary CC. They went from 41 applicants last year to 120 this year (they also gained APA status this year).

That's 4 rejections in a row. 🙁 I fortunately started out with 5 interviews, but that hurts. Still 8 to go. :xf:

DayQuil always helps me get through the work day... I think it has caffeine in it to help you stay alert and awake.

I'm so sorry! Take decongestants (without antihistamines) during the day. If you have healthcare and can see a doc, and IF it is a sinus infection, he/she might give you a steroid dose pack or better yet, an IM steroid plus an antibiotic. The steroid kicks in the anti-inflammatory response in a couple of days, and you'll feel tons better. Otherwise, you know the drill, rest and lots of fluid. Be careful with overdoing the antihistamines as your sinuses need to drain. Take care!😍

Has anyone out of state heard from the Cambridge Health Alliance? I remember reading last week that they sent out local invites...just wondering if anyone else has heard anything from them? :xf:
 
Thanks for the update! In light of the fact that a classmate was called last week for an interview offer, I wonder if the snail mail letters are rejections. 🙄 I hope not, because it's one of my top sites...

Ginger + lemon + cayenne pepper + honey (if needed) in hot water always works like a charm for me. Also, for your sore throat, garling salt dissolved in warm water or honey + lemon in warm water and chewing on fresh garlic have been helpful to me. And, finally, I always find it difficult to eat healthfully while not feeling well, but I'd be a nutrient fiend if possible; spinach smoothies with spinach + banana + berries + non-dairy milk taste amazing, I promise.

ZICAM works well for me... also 1000mg Vit C.
oh, and try not to think about it too much 🙂

I'm still waiting for UF Health Sciences as well. I know they contacted some people pretty early on, but it was for their adult tracks.

I heard from Miami Children's on Thursday. However, I know they have a pretty late notification date (their website says the 17th) so it's very possible that they're still contacting people.
