I know! I received my invite at 9:30pm! I hope that doesn't mean interns are often there that late!
 
Just received an invite to Jesse Brown VA (NP). Dates are Jan 11, 18 and 25. Good luck today, folks!
 
Rejection via email from Emory Gen Internship this am. The email itself said nothing about yea or nay but the attachment entitled, "REJECTION 2010.doc" made it pretty clear. Ah well. Not too broken up about it.
 
to W8ing:Training staff work nights and weekends getting through this phase both because timeliness is important to students and because these tasks are often on top of their usual clinical duties that take up daytime hours. This is not a "typical" time of year for anyone. I think one of the unfortunate aspects we are all wrestling with now too is that the supply/demand problem has accelerated the number of sites students apply to and this also increases the number of applications that have to be processed (and painfully the number of rejections people receive). It is just a broken process and incredibly stressful for students but it is the one we have (and is definitely improved by the advent of online apps and email). Hang in there and remember that the majority of people who are ready for internship do find an internship.

got an invite to the Metro State College of Denver Counseling Center! :zip:
somehow that image speaks to how i'm feeling right now. i'm excited to hear something this week finally! now just 19 more to go!!

Congrats Dragonstyle! I grew up in Colorado and actually went there for part of my undergrad years and loved it. It is a true large urban campus in a fantastic location.
 
The Northstar school psychology internship in georgia sent a rejection this morning. It wasnt personalized and there was no actual body to the email. Just an attachment entitled "Letter- no to interview"... sheesh. :eyebrow:

so far I've got

1 interview; 7 rejections; 8 to go.... yuck

Got an interview invite by phone to Yale's Child Study Center. From what they said, it seems they're making phone calls for all of the tracks this morning. I'm at the top of the alphabet... good luck to everyone waiting to hear from them!
This is such an up and down process!
 
Got a rejection from the Jewish Child Care Association in Westchester county. 🙁🙁🙁

Haven't heard from Virginia Beach yet either, but a friend who interviewed there last year heard on Dec. 11th...so definitely will be soon.
 
I only applied to the Illinois Consortium, otherwise applying to clinical (hospital, residential, or CMHC) child/adolescent internships. Does anyone think the Illinois Consortium would be willing to allow individuals to set up interviews outside of the Jan.6 interview day??? Got a potential conflict 😱

Just got an email for an interview at Virginia Tech! I'm excited about that site because they have taken one student from my program for each of the past two years. Here's hoping for the three-pete! Interviews are on site January 6, 7, 10, and 11. I was so excited I called right after I got the email, and the secretary said "wow that was fast, I only sent out the email a minute ago."

Also sending positive thoughts to everyone out there, I am still waiting on 9 sites. Try to keep busy (holiday light-stringing, anyone?) and good things will happen when you least expect it! :luck:

Not sure that they would, according to their listing on the APPIC directory. It wouldn't hurt to ask though. You don't have to let them know until midnight, sunday dec 12.

Thanks psychgal! After several days of no word at all, and many of the people here talking about how they have a majority of their sites heard from, I was beginning to lose hope. It's nice to be hearing things, especially interviews! Good luck to you and the rest as well. Hopefully today brings more good news for others.
 
Keep your head up. This process is crazy-making. We can all learn from what this brings out in us. The journey through self-doubt and discouragement can only lead to a greater ability to identify with clients in the long run. At least that's my chosen perspective.

A friend/colleague & I both just got invites to Saint John's Child and Family Development Center. Open house visitations are January 4 and Jan. 7, interviews can be arranged between Jan. 3 and Jan.30 (including on the open house days, for out-of-state folks). 🙂

Vanderbilt VA (general track) I think people have heard from neuro track.
West Haven

That is a great perspective! Congratulations on your Manhattan VA interview! That is the first I've heard on the forum about them contacting people... mind sharing when/how you heard? Keep up the great attitude 🙂.

Thanks! I'll cross my fingers for you! Here are the dates I got in the email:

"We are interviewing candidates on the following days and times:
January 4 9am and 1pm
January 5 9am and 1pm
January 6 9am and 1pm
January 7 9am and 1pm
January 11 9am and 1pm
January 12 9am and 1pm
January 13 9am and 1pm
January 14 9am and 1pm
January 18 9am
January 19 9am and 1pm
January 20 9am and 1pm
January 21 9am"

I took the Jan 5 at 1pm. Hope you get an invite too! :highfive:
 
I just received a rejection from VTCC via email and got a rejection yesterday from American's CC. Both seemed like generic mass emails. Hopefully that helps some of you.

Up to 7 rejections, 0 interviews, and waiting on 9 sites. At least I get to see my 18 month old niece this weekend. She thinks I'm the best, whether or not these sites liked me.

Good luck to all! I'm glad to hear some of you are getting some positive feedback.

Just got an interview invite from Emory - General track!! The letter said they sent out invites to the general and trauma tracks at the same time because they will interview those two groups on the same days 😍
 
Tell me about it! To have had the opportunity to be so centrally located from the Jersey Shore! I could have spent my down time in "tshirt time" with paule, snookie, etc. Damn :laugh:

Actually, it seemed like a decent site & it would have been nice to have had the opportunity to return to my native garden state :laugh:

Interview invite via mass email to Children's Hospital Boston! So excited, I love love love this site!
 
I just got 2 rejections within 5 minutes of each other... Ouch.

First, to Kaiser San Diego... I applied there (and was rejected) last year... and the training director used the EXACT SAME rejection email this year:laugh:. The other repeat rejections I've gotten have at least been a little different from last year. Geez!

Then, literally 5 minutes later, a rejection to the Miami VA 🙁. Sucks.

So funny how fast things can change in a week. Last Friday I had 4 interviews, 3 rejections, and was feeling pretty good. As of now, I have 4 interviews, 8 rejections, and feel like :wtf:

My girlfriend just got an email from the Dayton VA offering an interview. Interestingly enough, to add to the crazy stories being told, the email she received said "please disregard the previous message" even though my girlfriend received no previous message. And that site left a voicemail on her phone that said "i'm so sorry we accidentally rejected you, please come interview." She never received any word of rejection.

Seems like several sites are having issues sending the wrong information to candidates, or at least thinking they sent the wrong information. If we as applicants did that, we would be cut immediately. Shame it's a double standard.

definitely beats the one day (Jan 6th) I was offered from Lancaster General!
 
I'm waiting on 15 sites. Having a very hard time believing any will be interviews, for some reason. I guess it's easier to write them off, mentally.

if it makes you feel any better - my very first internship contact was a rejection and then all the later ones have been interviews...I don't think you not hearing yet is necessarily a bad thing!

Its great that she got to avoid the stress of that...congratulations to her!! I've been obsessively checking my phone and my email since you posted this hoping maybe my rejection was also a mistake...no such luck 😳
