I'm waiting on 15 sites. Having a very hard time believing any will be interviews, for some reason. I guess it's easier to write them off, mentally.

The way I see it, if you haven't been rejected yet then there is still a chance of an interview. It can be hard to convince yourself of that, but I have found it to be true. Good luck!

Vanderbilt VA (general track) I think people have heard from neuro track.
West Haven
Central Texas

I am also waiting on Memphis VA and Atlanta VA

Hey school psych folks -

Just wanted to share that I should be able to re-arrange my interview at the Illinois Consortium. The Illinois Consortium states in the brochure that January 6 is the only interview day. I had some conflicts with January 6th and emailed the TD to see if I could interview another day.

The TD was prompt & kind in her response. She shared that it should be possible to re-arrange interviews so that I can individually interview at the site within the consortium I was offered an interview at (and, potentially, the other site where I am an "alternate" to interview).

So, on Illinois - keep the January 6th date if possible - but it appears to be possible to re-arrange interview date if necessary (although it seems it would be a hassle if you got interviews at multiple sites). Good luck

That is a great perspective! Congratulations on your Manhattan VA interview! That is the first I've heard on the forum about them contacting people... mind sharing when/how you heard? Keep up the great attitude 🙂.

To keep my sanity, I do tend to write-off sites that I haven't heard from but that I know other people have heard from for sure (that way, if I do get an interview, its also a pleasant surprise). However, I agree with Dragonstyle, don't give up hope yet! There are still plenty of potential interviews out there- and as someone mentioned it only takes one stellar interview to match!

Thanks for the info. And rightly so, your celebration! After not matching (and getting NO APA interviews) last year, when I got my first interview this year my husband and I went out to happy hour on the beach. It surely is a cause for celebration. Congratulations again 🙂.

So I got rejected from Colorado State University Counseling Center but got an invite to the University of Missouri Kansas City CC. They came with 10 minutes of each other. Still waiting on a lot of sites.

Oh...that really stings (but thanks for posting). I did not get one, and that was not only one of my top sites, it was also one I thought was a perfect fit. This is a crazy and demoralizing process!🙁

Well it looked like a mass, but i dont know for sure, so dont write it off yet.

Yes, it was my top choice do to 1.) pay and job security 2) location (I grew up in there), 3) indepth b-med with both men and women (they have a womens camp too).

Thanks for the encouraging words😍 I have a really strong BMed background, but I am older, and I know that can work against me since part of their objective is to train prison psychologists (in short, I am preparing myself for the rejection). Congratulations to you, though, it looks like a great training opportunity!👍

Just got a rejection email from Northwestern University. At least it was personalized with my name! Can't complain too much, as I'm 5 and 3.

Well just had my first interview and I'm happy to say that despite my pre-anxiety the process was pleasant and the other applicants were interesting, kind, and just as stressed-out as the rest of us. I think that'll be the norm as all of us in this field want to help others and do what we love even. Getting an internship is a trying experience, but we can still treat each other well.

Now, as the week comes to a close, 9 sites left to hear from with roughly 3 days to be notified. Enjoy your weekends all, keep your spirits up, and good luck!!!

At least I get to see my 18 month old niece this weekend. She thinks I'm the best, whether or not these sites liked me.

I just got 2 rejections within 5 minutes of each other... Ouch.

First, to Kaiser San Diego... I applied there (and was rejected) last year... and the training director used the EXACT SAME rejection email this year. The other repeat rejections I've gotten have at least been a little different from last year. Geez!

Then, literally 5 minutes later, a rejection to the Miami VA 🙁. Sucks.

So funny how fast things can change in a week. Last Friday I had 4 interviews, 3 rejections, and was feeling pretty good. As of now, I have 4 interviews, 8 rejections, and feel like

It's ok. We're still doing better than we were last year. We got this.


Finally got some more news: rejection from Central Regional Hospital. Def disappointed about that one. I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to move to NC 🙁
