I think often it would be better for a person to get a year off and come back swinging than to get an 11th hour acceptance at a place they don't really want to go to. I hope everything ultimately works out for you, though 🙂
I feel your pain! Same thing happened to me last week. Got my hopes up, especially b/c I felt the interview went really well.... I had a few (= many) drinks to get over that one!Just got the rejection from my favorite school for the entire cycle. Sigh. This one hurts. 🙁😡🙁😡🙁
Starting to lose hope myself as well. 3.8/29 non-traditional completing 2nd bachelor's. Complete mid-august on secondaries and applied to 43 schools. 1 II, 15 rejections, waiting on 27 schools
Any word on when you hear back from the interview (or have you not attended yet)? At least you have 27 schools that are still deciding on you. Don't lose hope because on any given day you can get an II in your mailbox. Try to keep that fire burning at least until March. And if at that time you are still in the same position, then you can start losing hope 👍
Which school :/, Cheer up you got Dartmouth!
Sorry to hear that 🙁 Pre or post interview?
Straight-out rejected post-interview from a brand new school in my home state. Thought the interviews went really well, my numbers seem to be above average for them, and I legitimately believe in their mission, which fits well with my EC's. Ouch.
Had my second interview on Tuesday, which I'm not at all confident about now.

NOOOO Don't lose hope!!!! I'm non traditional with similar stats! remember, we only need 1 acceptance!!!
if u have questions feel free to send me a mssg =]! us pre-meds need to stick together!
The waiting is the worst part, I'd much rather know early if I was rejected than hanging onto hope for months. Anyone know if there is a thread of schools that silently reject?
Preinterview, so I guess it doesn't hurt as much as if it was post interview. Still though, I thought it was a really good school that fit my application fairly well. I spent 3 days on that damned secondary. Oh well.
Ugh another day :/ with nothing
Seems like a pretty slow day in general for interviews according to allo page!
And it's rough because the holiday break is approaching quickly 🙁

Ugh, another rejection, though I was complete at this school in december lol
Stay positive!!!! You will not be applying again.Doing this cycle again is GOING to suck lol.
I don't remember a single time until now where I felt any ounce of dread for a holiday break. 😱
sbuxaddict, I finally figured out the meaning of your username. haha I'm terribly slow.

👍Try to keep your heads up everyone, but more than that try to set this all aside for a few weeks starting from next week. There are threads filled with people getting II's in January and even February, and a majority of eventual matriculants at every school but UPenn, Columbia, and Harvard (according to Columbia) are accepted off the wait list.
Most matriculants get into their school between March and June. This is just the first half of a very long game, and we're reaching halftime. Try to enjoy it 🙂

I've got nothing really to add except that I feel just as ****ty as most of you guys... Med school is the first thing I think about when I wake up, the last thing I think about when I drunkenly fall asleep. I can't even escape the thoughts in my dreams. I've stopped eating well, working out, and sleeping regularly. 🙁 This has to be the worst part of being a premed. I hope we all hear back soon.

Panic mode... non-traditional with 3.8/33 -- applied to 20+ schools, secondaries submitted either late September or early October, a lot of oos applications. Two IIs (one next week, one in January), one post-sec hold, two pre-sec rejections, two post-sec rejections, and way too much silence. 🙁
You have to handle this better. You're applying to be responsible for the lives of others, and the stress of each corresponding gateway from here on out only gets worse. Take care of yourself so you can take care of others when the time comes. Don't let yourself slip, not even for a moment, or this road could lengthen far longer than you wish. Trust that things will work out. 👍
Oh man, you gotta take care of yourself. This process really eats away at your energy and self esteem so an unhealthy lifestyle can make it so much worse.
how about we all take an evening off from obsessing about our med school applications and connect with the people we love in honor of those who lost their lives in connecticut today. Sdn will be here tomorrow.

Never thought that by Dec 15th I would only have 1 interview. Man oh man...
and EDIT: How did this thread fall to page 2?!

I'd be surprised if anyone at this point in the cycle has heard back from 5 post interview and not been accepted. If you've had that many (and heard back already) you were likely interviewing early and therefore are a strong candidate.
