Maybe call and explain the situation (minus expletives?) and just let them know you want to make sure you didn't miss any correspondence from the school.

I just got off the phone with them. She didn't say I missed anything but that by updating AMCAS, they're system also gets updated
 
So I now have an interview Nov. 12th, and I'm coming from outside of Philadelphia. Has anyone taken Megabus + CAT to get to Hershey before? It looks like it would involve a bus to the center of Harrisburg from the Megabus stop and another out to Hershey, and I wanted to know if anyone had actually done it. Or, on the off chance someone else from around here is going that day, I'd be glad to pay for gas and stuff for a carpool.
 
Is anyone here still not complete? I submitted in mid-September and still haven't been marked complete on the site. Should I try calling or just sit back and wait? I know I might sound a bit neurotic, and I know it takes a while to sift through all the apps, but this is the only school that's taken nearly this long for a "complete" status for me :shrug: Any input is really appreciated.

I submitted 09.19 (oos if that makes a difference) and was completed 09.27. I would personally call just to make sure everything is in order (ie. if they have everything).

I submit 8/21 and they still haven't marked me as complete either. I called a while ago and they told me it'll be marked complete once someone looks at it...😕
 
What is the interview format at PennState? Any other advice for their interviews in particular? I will be interviewing there next week.

1 on 1 with 2 faculty, each lasting about 30 min. Didn't encounter any trick questions, just basically a convo about my app/me

Did anyone get an acceptance from Penn State yet? I thought they said they would be getting back to us in the week of Oct 15...

At my day they said 6-8 weeks and snail mail only. If you live far away it may take a while in the mail
 
nothing here, judging from last years thread it looks we wont be hearing back til the first week of November :/
 
I interviewed in the first week and have not yet heard anything from them. Doesn't stop me from excessively checking the mailbox. haha!
 
From last year's, people who interviewed in September should get mail last two weeks of October-first week November.

Anybody know for housing, I mean hotels for interviewing which ones provide the best deals? I think I remember the very kind woman on the phone telling me two but I forgot to write their names down and I'd rather pay $50 than $100 for an overnight stay

Springhill Suites and Days Inn. They're both very close to the medical center and I think may offer you a discount if you tell them that you're interviewing.

Me too! I turned in my secondary 8/8 and JUST got the complete email on 10/16 lol

"Please understand that the Committee reviews all completed applications in the random and rolling order in which it receives them."

did anyone else get a letter in the mail saying that they've been placed in the "continue to review" category?

I just got it today and I was marked complete 10/4 (2 months post-submission).

Yeah, a bunch of people get this. It's just a pre-interview hold.
 
If I got the "Continue to Review" mail, but I'll be going to the area, does anyone know if PSU would be open to "In the Area" emails? I'm from the Midwest, so the less times I have to fly out to the East the better (although if I were to get an interview, I'd party all the way to the airport as many times as needed!)
 
How long after being complete does it take to hear back about a decision (on hold, rejection, interview)?
 
So I interviewed in September and just got a letter in the mail saying that I have been put on a 'Hold List.'

Is this the same as wait list?
 
Earliest day anyone heard back last year on SDN was October 20th. Looks like the first batch of letters were recently sent out... hoping to hear something soon!
 
They were pretty fast about sending a "Continue to Review" snail mail after my app was complete. Hopefully you guys hear some good news soon. Does anyone know what the chances are of getting an interview after getting a hold mail? Penn State is actually one of the schools I really liked.

This is exactly how I got to my interview and it was very cheap.

I also got the pre-interview hold. 🙁 I really wanted at least an interview. anyone know if they'll take update letters?

+1 i got the same news last week. I have no idea as far as the answer to your question, but i would love to know this also!
 
so only one person has heard back post interview and it was for the hold list?...anyone else hear anything yet?

Last year I was stuck in the "Continue to Review" group as well. Not too long after that, I received an II. I received a "Continue to Review" this go around as well, and I'm not too nervous about it given my previous experiences. I can't say how long it'll take, or if it will happen, but don't lose faith yet! 😀
