Hi guys,
so I have been on hold for upstate till september and I was rejected today for 2013 cycle with a conditional acceptance if I complete the postbac for 2014. I was never interviewed for the school but they would like me to come in for an interview for the program. I'm not really sure what a conditional acceptance is... and the terms of it. exactly. has anyone gotten this? or know so information about it? according o the email I have a choice of two graduate programs for the program on at upstate and the other at buff. I went to syracuse so I'm pretty familiar with upstate and I am waiting a decision for downstate. I guess the question is should I even go in for his interview which is pretty soon in march?

Summer anatomy isn't cramming. You still have the same lectures and enough time for dissection. It's just that you go to lectures 4 or 5 days a week in the summer instead of 3 days a week in the Fall. It is intense, but you only have that one class to study for. And you'll appreciate it a lot more in the Fall when your other classmates are jealous of you not having to take Anatomy class.

Anyhow, if you really want to have this summer off, then don't take it, but remember you'll have to work harder in Fall with a full course load.

If you have been out of school for a little bit, and need to get your feet wet again before diving into intense studying, then take summer anatomy.

Anatomy has 4 units with 4 unit exams. Summer runs from beginning of june to end of july (2 months). Fall runs from mid august to end of november (3.5 months).

If you're accepted to Summer anatomy and decide not to do it, please please let the school know asap so they can fill the spot, giving other student filling your spot enough time to arrange their housing and moving situation.

Hi All, I am new the forum but have been lurking on it for a bit. Thank you for providing all of the information on Summer Anatomy.

I know this is quite a ways away, but I was wondering if taking a summer course in medical school impacted the way residencies look at you. I only ask because I know this is the case for taking summer courses in undergrad, applying to medical school. Thanks in advance for the input!
 
Just saw an update on my application but I interviewed in early Jan. Hope that helps
 
got my decision after interviewing on 1/14. HPA 🙁 first post interview decision so i'm still so frustrated for this waiting process..

Hey I was wondering if anyone had any insight into the Binghamton campus? I wanted to know how it was being there and the quality of the medical experience there. Also do most people stay in Binghamton for their 4th year or do they transfer back to Syracuse? Thanks
 
First post! Does anyone have access to the summer anatomy application? I haven't gotten the email yet.
 
Does anyone have information on whether or not they are still sending out IIs? Rejected from MD/PhD...still theoretically in the running for MD. Not looking for pity, just answers! THANKS!
 
OK so let me be a little more specific about my situation because my experience with the admissions office here thus far has been a little confusing.

- Application confirmed as complete on 10/31/12 (MD/PhD applicant)
- Rec'd a rejection email on 11/12/12 from REGULAR MD ONLY (and so, I assumed, the MD/PhD program was obviously not a possibility anymore...)
- But then...rec'd another rejection email on 2/4/13, from the MD/PhD program (???), but offering to put my application in consideration for MD only (??? more confusion)
- Replied to admissions and got things ironed out...and I am now supposedly in the running for MD only again...BUT
- According to their website they are done interviewing...do I have any chance of getting a II?

I am SO CONFUSED! 😕 Can anyone shed light on my situation?

That is really interesting. Have you talked to Jennifer Welch directly who is the Director, maybe that initial 11/12/12 email was a mistake

Yes, I did speak with Jennifer. All the emails I mentioned were between me and her. Once the issue was resolved she confirmed that I was rejected from the MD/PhD, but then she said she would make sure I was considered for MD, because that rejection was apparently a mistake...still...due to the fact that their interview season is apparently over, I have no idea what to think.

Oh OK...good to know. I wish I knew when...and since I haven't gotten any IIs I don't really know what the latest date is that they'll be sending IIs before that final interview date. I was assuming at least a 2 week notice period...correct me if I'm wrong but I have no idea.

Well I got the invite on a Friday for an interview that next Wednesday, so only a few days notice. Good luck!
 
Ohhh...OK...I'm assuming only people who have had interviews have access to that, right? Well...I guess I'm pretty much done unless I get an II at the very last minute. Thanks for the info though, much appreciated.

SO if next Wednesday (3/6) is the last interview date...TOMORROW IS OUR LAST HOPE FOR AN II HERE!!!!!
 
Well...it's 4:20...no II...getting ready to say goodbye to my chances at SUNY Upstate.
 
ERMAGHERD!! Rejected today. Been on a Pre-Interview Hold since late October, who saw this one coming?!

Any of us that haven't had an II are going to be rejected at this point for sure right? WHY DON'T THEY JUST TELL US NOW AUGH. Also, PatsFan87...love the name. GO PATS!

you never know man, theres always tomorrow, but how do you know that there aren't having more interviews after this week

Another poster above said that they were told that 3/6 would be SUNY's last interview. Their website says they don't even interview past January...so unless anyone gets an II today I'm pretty sure we're done here.
 
High Priority Alternate list for me...
I'm a bit worried as to how this extra wait would affect my sanity. 🙁

Was this status something that happened after you interviewed? And either way, how did you find out? E-mail?

HPA is given after the interview. And in regards to the website, it might be possible they may have changed some things like opening up more interview slots due to how some interviewees may be accepting or rejecting. Also I would like to know the source of where it says 3/6 is last interview day 🙂

Hang in there, there is usually so much movement in the next couple of months, you are in a good position to get in

I interviewed on February 13th, and they said they are going to have one more interview day in March.

There were no later dates in the online scheduling calendar, (unless they have added more since?).
 
In regards to the website saying they only interview until the end of January; this could be from last year when they still did traditional interviews. Now that Upstate does MMI's they might have changed the number of people and dates they choose to interview.

Anyways, good luck to everyone. I am 99.9999% sure I will be attending. I look forward to meeting some of you on the 18th!!!!

Yeah but still...that last interview still seems to be 3/6, which still means that IIs are done, basically
 
In all seriousness though...does anyone know if they've added more interview dates besides 3/6?

Yep, I found out through email. Though, they had to resend the email, because I did not receive their first one.
