9 weeks post interview and nothing !!
Hey,
So I have a question because it has been bothering me. So I have already been accepted to Temple Med school and plan to attend. I am currently in school finishing up my degree. On my AMCAS application, I swittched out of one course (which on AMCAS i listed under "Future Coursework") to take another. It definately is not one of the requirements for temple med and I am still going to be getting the same degree. This was a minor course that I switched out of into another. Just because at this point I am paranoid that something is going to happen, I just wanted to make sure that my acceptance wont be taken away because I dont have "successful completion of the courses listed on my AMCAS." Like I said, this was a minor course, but I did list it as "Future Coursework" on my AMCAS application. should I even contact temple med about it? Or is it really insignificant?
Thank you in advance for any advice, input. I know I am probably thinking too much into it. But better to be safe than sorry.
you're over-thinking it. Anything "future" on amcas was true at that time. "future" is subject to change, and you're not going to get crap for it.

Has anyone gotten a response after filing their FAFSAs?? I'm starting to get a little nervous about not knowing where I'll stand financially...
I'm in the same boat. I feel like it's completely irrational for me to think that I have a chance of getting an interview invite in late April, but since I'm still "Under Review" and haven't received a rejection, so there's still a tiny glimmer of hope that maybe through some miracle it'll happen...This school is a trip! I called and I am still under review. Why don't they just say I'm rejected already?! Lol. I don't expect to be interviewed and they refuse to tell me any more than what is on the online status page. Geez!
do only rejections and waitlists come in the mail? Just got a letter at home that's being forwarded to me. so nervous. basically my last chance to not skip a year
If you were accepted you would have gotten an email, I think. I got an email long before I got my letter in the mail. When did you interview ?
Did you already get your TU portal account info? Was it emailed to you?I went to second look as well and I really loved it! The other accepted were really nice and relaxed, and I'm excited to spend the next four years with them. They gave us a ton of info so I'm having a hard time condensing everything we were told into a post. Here are some things that we learned that might be useful to those of you unable to attend.
-There is now a pre-orientation checklist online. It's at the TUSM website (not application portal) under MD Program -> Admissions -> Accepted Applicants. They'll be adding more info to this list as it becomes available.
- You should have gotten a TUPortal account after being accepted. If you didn't you should call the helpdesk and they can help you get one set up. Your financial aid offer will eventually be posted in the 'self service banner' of this portal
- The orientation week will consist of being at the school for info sessions every day and then social events every night. There is also a summer book that the class reads for discussion during orientation. I think we get to pick one out of several options.
- The students I spoke with didn't really use books, which is great for me because I've never really used books to study. They did all have the anatomy atlas (Netters) but other than that they recommended going block by block to see if you want the book before buying anything.
Those are some of the things that stuck in my head. It was really a fun day, and it really eased any anxiety I had about attending Temple in the fall. I can't wait to get started, and I hope to meet some of you in August! 😀

Thanks! It should have been emailed to you shortly after the payment confirmation email. It is from Temple University Comput. and it is titled "Welcome to Temple University"
Finally got the official personalized rejection emailed letter today. Took long enough! What a waste of my time. Good luck to everyone else.
Me too! Big waste.
Did anyone get their FA posted on the service banner ??
On mine there's a tab to view my award letter, but it says that I have to file my FAFSA first...which is the 1 requirement above that I have satisfied. I also have 5 "unsatisfied" requirements: graduate enrollment verification sheet, FinAid terms and conditions, grant permission to pay university charges, grant permission to pay any balance, and accept your award (except it's not letting me do that). I'm going to call them tomorrow, since this whole thing seems like a big mess and I'd rather call then accidentally click "accept" on something and realize later on that I accepted something I shouldn't have.
mine is the same. If you click on it, it doesnt give a value for the award. I remember at second look they said financial has been started and will finish up until june. I dont know how they are prioritizing for people tho.
Called them today and was told they may not have financial aid out before May 15th. Was also told some institutional aid may not even be awarded before the fall.
dumb IMO, financial aid is a big part of med school. What about for the people holding multiple acceptances?

I mean I don't understand why they are doing this. I have other acceptances and received their FA package. All of them gave me loans that cover the full tuition. However, I want to attend Temple but I am hesitant to withdraw my other acceptances since I am not sure what my FA looks like. Is it possible that they don't give me enough loans to cover the whole tuition?

Just wanted to also clarify that the lady I spoke to said the standard full loan amounts are to be expected. My question was regarding scholarships/grants/institutional aid, which she said would take longer. You can always call the financial aid office if you have specific concerns.
Hi I notice on few your post you mention that you had child while you were in your first year. I was very interested in Temple University but I wanted to know how supportive they were of students becoming pregnant. Do you know of any students that had to do a leave and return. Thank you for any information you can give!I just took my last test for MS-1 here and I have loved this year. I am totally sure I made the right choice coming here. I'll try to answer any questions about the school that I can for you guys. 🙂

I got a Merit Scholarship for about 30K spread out over 4 years which means about 7.5K per year. As for Need Based Aid, the financial aid office said they would start handing those well after matriculation after we've paid our tuition (which makes no sense to me), but that's what they said
got it may 13th
