Wayne is one place where you don't really have to worry about being late in the cycle. They accept the class in 1/7 pieces, so it's not exactly like you're competing for fewer spots as they always reserve some (of course, the later you are the fewer 1/7 slices you have to be considered for, if that makes any sense). Plenty of my classmates interviewed late in the cycle (March-time or so). Basically if they like you they will interview you.
Just as a p.s., I would say that I know a significant amount of people here at Wayne (myself included), who waited out at least one acceptance release cycle to finally get admitted. The thing that really bothers me is that you never really know where you are (900th on the list or what), but being waitlisted isn't a death sentence. I just wish they would outright reject people who are way down on the list to give people some closure. That's just me though, I found rejections strangely refreshing.
Could be a conspiracy?! They accepted 45 students this first round which I found unusual. It's interesting that there are only 6 rounds. It is usually 7 rounds until April/May. I did not even notice. Good find! I would love to rationalize that it puts the odds in favor for us waitlisters. They may try to interview more between September and March and accept more each decision date. The bulk of the waitlist movement still won't happen until mid-May, however, because that's when people who hold multiple acceptances must withdrawal acceptances. At least we won't have to wait too long to see a trickle of waitlist movement starting January. Hopefully I will be one of those.😉
