No, people who are coming to interview from out of state get priority over scheduling their interviews.

For example, I said I was available to interview on Monday anytime, but if someone coming from out of state could only interview on Monday, I would get bumped to another day 'cause I live in Portland.

Does anyone know what St. Luke's interview dates are? Not sure if they have different dates for child vs. adult tracks, but I'm interested in the dates for child track.

One of my sites (The Youth Opportunity Center) has their notification date listed as January 2nd in the directory. However, their brochue says they notify by December 15th. Does anyone here know anything about this site and when they actually notify?

Side note: it is really frustrating when information in the directory conflicts with the information in the brochures/on the website! That happened for several of my sites regarding their application due dates.

Rejection from University of Iowa, kind of disheartening as I was a really good fit at that site. Such is life I guess. . .
 
I'm still waiting to hear from Penn State...

Someone posted yesterday that PSU sent out their interviews - I freaked out a bit until I saw that it was Portland State, and not Penn State.

Crossing my fingers for both of us!!!:xf:

Same here. I also thought I was a great fit. I found this bit amusing....

I have not heard back from McGuire (Richmond). Given that today is notification day, I'm thinking it's the inevitable r-word for me.

Hello all. I haven't had much of a chance to participate in the forum yet (in fact, first post), but I hope it will help me through this process. I'm sure many of the sites I have heard back from are already accounted for, but I thought I'd share my list thus far. I'm feeling pretty low, heard back from 7 and all rejections...

Southern Arizona Psych Internship Consortium
Kaiser San Diego
Denver Behavioral Health
Pacific Psychology Clinic - OR

I feel like I'm starting to see some of my not so wise decisions (academically) from the last three years shooting me in the foot right now...

Billy, What does your last name start with? I wonder if they are calling in order. My name starts with a Y so I never know if I am just last to get the call or if I should be expecting a rejections.

Congratulations!! To clarify, did they mention to you that they're interviewing candidates from the MA area, New England, Northeast, or what? I just have some wishfull thinking playing in the back of my mind...Thanks for the input..
 
Thank you! It's been a rough couple of weeks! My last name starts with L and the woman who called only said "local" interviews. I'm in Boston so I'm not sure what they consider local. Hope you get a call soon too!

I got an email from them several weeks ago asking for my APPIC number "to track applicants," so perhaps they're not going by last name...

Just wanted to comment on this...there was a site I interviewed at last year that had only one interview date and it didn't work for me. The site was very flexible and let me come alone on a different date. I ended up going out there 2+ weeks after the interview date when all the other candidates interviewed. I was worried about the timing too, but I think it worked to my benefit as there would be a recency effect at least in terms of what they remembered (though I know primacy is stronger) and there was a LOT more one on one attention since I was there alone and everyone else interviewed all on the same day 2+ weeks prior. Long story short(er), I wound up being ranked #2 by them (just as a precaution 🙄, no I didn't ask where I was ranked nor did I imply that I wanted to know. They independently contacted me after match day and told me. I did not say either before or after match day where I ranked them.)

I saw that Oklahoma sent out their notifications for interviews last week. Was this for all tracks? Anyone get rejections yet?

Not sure about tracks, but I got an interview for the primary funding site at Behavior...whatever the children's hospital funding site is called. Not sure about other funding sites. Sorry if that's not helpful!

I haven't either. Do far every site I have heard from has at least 30-50 more applicants this year. Yuck

Also, just heard back from Long Beach VA - rejection. they had around 200 applicants up from 165 last year

I'm sorry to hear that 🙁 This process really is crazy... it makes us doubt everything we have ever done and thought we knew. But remember that the match/internship process is not a direct reflection of the person or psychologist we are. It has been compared on this thread is being akin to "voodoo" or "lottery-type luck."

I wished this weekend to be less stressful. 9 sites to go.
