nope. I have gotten all rejections from counseling centers and I have no idea why. I'm started to be concerned about my rec letters, even though I asked people that gave me very positive feedback about working with me. My experience and essays were a good fit. Don't get it.
 
Just got a personalized (Hi "my name") rejection email from the Wisconsin Internship Consortium in Professional Psychology. I applied to the adult neuropsych service. I will say that I'm, admittedly, a little surprised by this one as they're currently unaccredited. :shrug: I guess that's my karma for thinking of anything as a "safety."

Haven't heard anything from Morrison. Last year on the thread it looks like people still hadn't heard early in the day on 12/15.

Has anybody else heard from Oakland Children's Hospital and Research Center? I saw one post about a phone call. Have others heard back?

11 sites left, its Dec. 14th. I heard from 2...... WHAT??????? Only 2!!!!!!.....

Got a call from University of Tennessee's Health Science Center (St. Jude and General tracks). They're doing invites during the first 3 weeks of January. 🙂
 
I only heard from one site today - rejection from UCLA CAPS. 8 more going into tomorrow. Good luck to everyone on getting through tomorrow!
 
MUSC/ Charleston Consortium sent out invites on 11/21, and they still haven't sent out rejections. Are they actually waiting until 12/15 to let us know that we're out of the running, or were we just supposed to figure it out on our own?

All of my other sites have been pretty professional about offering interviews or rejections within a reasonable time frame, so I'm baffled by the one or two sites that just can't seem to be bothered.

I'm going to apply to the California one (CAPIC). Just as a back up. their match day is after the APPIC match date, so It's a good back up.


The rationale is that if I have to stick around for an extra year of grad school I'll become suicidal... so APA would be great, APPIC okay, and CAPIC totally acceptable.

I never heard of CAPIC. Is that strictly for California students? I heard they had their own directory of internship sites, an I think I heard it was only for Californians - reason I'm asking... I'm not planning on relocating, at least not this year, just curious...

Yes, that's correct. Under CA's law and regulations, an internship site must be approved by either APA, APPIC, or CAPIC for SPE to count.

Yup. I will apply to my local non-accredited, non APPIC internship if I don't match. I can't afford another year of school and need to be done before the program says I've been there too long and gives me the boot. I don't plan to move to another state- ever- so I should be ok with licensure- but it will potentially affect how much I can accomplish with some of my future career goals. Oh well, better done than calling it quits!

No, I would never consider it. I figure that I put the work into my PhD, I want to reap every benefit possible from it, which includes having as many options available as possible. I also work mainly in the forensic/government sector, so a non-appic internship probably wouldn't work for me.

I've already got a contingency plan in place in case I don't match, that consists of getting more unpaid hours at a former practicum site. Hopefully I won't have to do that though lol

Nope, I'm going to try for Match phase II if I don't match. And if I don't get an APA-site, I'll try again next year, hopefully as a much more competitive applicant (having likely defended my dissertation by end of October).

I have two conflicting interview dates. I was told by the training director at South Shore Mental Health that if I found someone who was willing to switch days I could attend the alternative date. Is anybody interviewing for the child track able to attend a January 13th interview instead of a January 17th interview? If you or anyone you know may be able to do this please send me a PM, your help is greatly appreciated thanks!
 
Three rejections today in a matter of an hour (all have been mentioned on here already). This has been a very hard process.

One of my best friends is a current intern at Linn County Mental Health. 😀 She is enjoying it. I hope you have a good visit with them.

I feel like my frontal lobe is burned out, too! I seriously cannot stand multi-tasking/juggling all these roles and activities as a graduate student anymore...

Yes! I haven't been feeling right the last few weeks especially. Like my head is gonna explode. I feel overworked. And I honestly don't even think my prac supervisors understand what this process has really been like (although bless their little hearts they really do try to be supportive). Today was the first day when I really had to work hard to hold it together. I might have a good cry later though. I just feel pulled in a million directions. Anyway, glad to have this place to unload. Really hoping people get some good news tomorrow!! Hopefully we can come together over the weekend to support one another with however things have managed to shake out. 😳

Just received a rejection from WPCS - totally didn't see that coming as they typically interview/accept students from my school. I just hope that's not the reason why they think I applied :/
 
My current practicum is at a college counseling center so we are in "termination week" with the students as the semester is coming to an end. With each rejection letter I feel defeated and question my experience, abilities, etc. but then I have students who tell me how much I have helped them this semester, how connected they felt to me, and how they are going to miss me.

These are the students who have worked with me for the past 3.5 months- I should put more weight on their feedback than the rejections from people who only know me based on paper.

Not sure if I can keep up the optimism through February 24th (depending on how that day turns out)..or even through tomorrow's rejection fest, but I thought it was good for the moment at least! 😉
