Has anyone heard from Citrus Health Network in Miami? According to last year's thread, they sent invitations really late and failed to even send rejections to people! I just want to know about all my sites so I can plan out my month of January, so I will be ticked if they fail to contact me regardless of the outcome!

I'm also crossing my fingers that I receive an invitation to Ethan Allen/Lincoln Hills tomorrow!

We've had 90-100% match rate the last few years, so no one really complains. With that said, I do get your point.

I got an invitation to CHN earlier today. It was not a personalized email. Hopefully you hear from them.

I had three of those same rejections today myself, here's hoping to a better tomorrow!👍
 
I have prac from 730-430, so that means no phone, email, or SDN until I get home. The last thing I need is getting rejections while trying to focus on clients! Ugh I'm so nervous...my number one placement's deadline is tomorrow...

Yeah, and there are many, many more. Most of the ones you posted don't look to be clinical/counseling/school, which means they have a different kind of accreditation anyway. Not sure what that has to do with anything....

there was a previous post that suggested that all programs should be apa accredited... none of these would qualify under apa's current criteria, i.e., they are not clinical, counseling, school... however, all of these can lead to licensure. i would understand pushing for programs that would qualify for accreditation, but what then would happen to those that don't, i.e., these - they would have to close down as without apa accreditation - if apa gets their way no one that graduates from any of these programs would be able to be licensed...
 
Just got an interview 12 minutes ago to interview for Clinical Psychology Internship Program at the University of Colorado School of Medicine (JFK DD track).

Awesome to get it at 12:30am lol central time (prolly 11:30pm mountain time
 
Just to chime in with my $0.02, I'm a fan of the generalist training followed by specialized postdoc. I've known since before my PhD that I wanted to specialize in forensics but I would have lost a LOT of valuable training had I not done a generalist PhD. I still had courses in forensic-specific stuff, but I don't believe that the PhD is the time to specialize.

If It's UMDNJ Piscataway, I just interviewed there on Monday. They are super nice and laid back. You will feel right at home 🙂
 
Lincoln in the Bronx? Hang in there...Their dates are far out so they may still be going through the stacks, I believe they received 2-300.

Yup, me too. At least I have 10 minutes or so around lunch time that I can access email on my phone. Good luck tomorrow:xf:

Umm, Suffolk's clinical psych program is APA accredited. They don't have any program called "clinical-developmental."

Most training staff I've spoken with generally hold this view as well. Certain specialization components can begin at the graduate school level (e.g., taking neuro-centric courses if you're planning on specializing in neuropsych), but this should not occur at the expense of your generalist training. Our program, for example, offers the neuropsych courses predominantly over the summer term, while the spring and fall are reserved for "the basics" (e.g., stats, psychopathology, therapy).

Internship is your last shot at "rounding out" your training. While specialization can occur more heavily here than in grad school, if you're already coming in with a good amount of experience at the doctoral level in your chosen area, then focusing on things you may not have the opportunity to be supervised doing in the future is totally acceptable. Conversely, if for example you decide you want to specialize in forensics or neuro at this point, yet you have very little grad-level work in the area, then focusing more heavily on it at the internship level is recommended.

No kidding. I basically deleted all my deal alerts from slickdeals, and unsubscribed from virtually all stores, listserves, etc. Still, I get a lot crap e-mails. Oh well, I'll be heading to sleep soon, although I'm sure not restful, as I'll wake myself up just to check my email.
 
Happy Constant-Refresh-Button-Pushing Day everyone! I have 4 sites left to hear back from and just that itself drives me nuts. I really feel for those of you waiting to hear back from the bulk of your sites... that's just not conducive to mental sanity. But I guess none of this is.

So, I just received a BLANK email -- no subject line, no content -- from the TD at Wayne State. Hmmm...
 
I received an invite with from Wayne State with a word document requesting an invite. The email itself was blank but the invite was in the attached word document. I would probably contact them as they probably forgot to attach the document. I got my email around 12:00 last night.
 
IMPORTANT: If you have not heard back from sites who have already sent invites/rejections, do yourself a favor and email the TDs even though the notification day is not over yet. I emailed two sites and apparently they typed my email address wrong, but they never received "undeliverable messages," so someone must have a gmail adress similar to mine. I don't have a strangely spelled name or anything, so I'm not sure what the TDs did wrong.

Bummer though - I wish I had not been holding on to hope about these sites and now I'm paranoid about the same thing happening with some other sites. 😕

Would you be willing to say which sites this happened to you with? Wondering if I'm in the same boat but on the fence about getting in touch so early in the day.

Annnd followed up by another blank email, this one with a rejection letter attached. Wasn't that fun!

Our TD told us to wait until the day after a site's notification deadline to contact them about your application status. I don't think there is any reason why they would take back their offer if they sent you one already just because you wanted to do them the courtesy of not bugging at this busy time and waiting until tomorrow.
 
I realized this may have been discussed already, but should we expect to hear anything from sites who have open houses (i.e., don't do interviews)?
 
Also, a friend is waiting on Atlanta VA. Anyone heard from them?

That sucks, hope that doesn't happen to me. People rarely spell my name correctly (usually switch the last two letters in my first name - Quyhn), so I'm hoping that actually makes the sender look more closely at spelling my name. 11 sites have had no trouble e-mailing me, so I'm not too concerned. I also know 2 sites that have sent invites sent rejections today last year, so I'll probably get those rejections later in the day. If they don't show up, then I'll e-mail them.

The clinical-developmental psych program is listed as not being APA accredited in the ASPPB/NR Registry...

I heard from YCS late last night (EST) via mass email. Interview dates are from 9am -1pm on the following dates:
Tues January 10
Tues January 17
Weds January 18
Mon January 23

Still waiting to hear from Mt. Sinai.. 12/30 is the deadline to notify applicants about interviews 👎 I don't think I can wait much longer!

with that line of thinking - everyone should be a clinical psychologist first - and then go to counseling or school... as clinical psych was the first one established. but there was differences in these 3 areas, so there are now 3 accreditable areas, however, there are actually more - apa just hasn't opened the door for these other types of psychology... yet!!!
