Hey future OTs,
I was wondering for those that have submitted and gotten verified, how long it took to become verified. The old threads were from years ago, so I thought I would try to see if anything changed.
Cheers

They say "4 weeks" but mine was verified within a week (submitted Monday and verified the following Monday). Make sure they have recieved your transcripts first because they can't start until they have recived them.

What schools are you applying to?

UWash, WashU, USC, Tufts, Boston, VCW, uhhhh some others haha, i know my application real well... sigh.

From California, USC is my only CA school. Really would love to stay in SoCal but moving is always nice for a short time i guess. USC because of the OTD program and how its integrated with some of the core curriculum for their MOT. How about you?

*also university of illinois chicago

Midwestern, Shenandoah, VCU, University of Pittsburgh, NYU, Temple, Jefferson

I'm from Northern Virginia (close to DC), I guess I wouldn't mind leaving VA but I want to stay on the east coast

Were you just recently verified? Or did you submit over the summer?
I totally understand wanting to stay on your half of the US. I know its temporary but, I'd like to go to school near where I plan on finding a job, and I have a lot of close friends here.

I submitted my application on October 24, 2011 and was verified on October 31, 2011. Try to submit early!

I submitted on The 2nd at like 11pm. So we will see. I hope its not too much longer. 🙂

Just to give anyone else reading this an update. I was just verified. As of now the wait time (between my and OTgal's apps) is about one week.

Cheers

Mine was verified today. It only took about 4 days. Actually, I guess it would be even less than that since I submitted it Sat late afternoon and was verified today at 9am. They were super quick on mine! I've had my transcripts in for quite some time though, so maybe that helped?

I applied on Dec 1st and the guy on the phone told me everything should be verified by the 15th. I'm also from socal (san diego) and applied to tufts, UIC, and UWash...good luck!

Interesting... I called today, and the guy I talked to said that today they are working on the applications received on November 23rd, and he told me that because I submitted on November 29th, mine should be verified by December 19th! (November 24th on December 14, November 25th on December 15th, etc.) I wonder if they processed a couple days worth of applicants today? That would be great!

Feeling kinda dumb for asking this, but does your application not count as submitted to the university until OTCAS verifies it? So, if the deadline is 1/1/12 11:59 EST, you need to either:
A) e-submit my application to OTCAS by 1/1/12 11:59pm
or
(B) e-submit my application to OTCAS at least a few weeks in advance because it needs to be VERIFIED by OTCAS before they send it out?!

If it's (B) Does that mean I shouldn't even bother sending in my application because I pretty much already missed it??

It just has to be time stamped today if that is the deadline, by e-submitting through the OTCAS. The application not being verified isn't an issue usually. At least that what a few schools have told me. They know it takes time to verify. It's basically the same concept as having it "postmarked" by the deadline.

OK, cool. I'm not feeling very confident that I'll get in, but I figured I should finish what I started. I e-submitted my application at like 10:42 pm central time... literally 17 minutes before the final, final deadline.

This was for UIC though, I finished the UIC graduate admissions application on Friday night, but the confirmation page said my payment ($60 fee! In addition to the $170 for OTCAS--UIC and MWU) would not be processed until 1/2/11... Hope it counts!

That can't look too good! At least it's in, though!

I don't think I realized UIC's date had changed. I thought it was originally Dec. 1st. I considered applying there but the IL schools that required 30 cadaver lab hours told me it had to be a graded class. I had A&P, my professor also does medical research and has her own cadaver lab within the school. However it was not required of the students and even though I have enough cadaver lab hours with her they said it would not count. It's a bummer since I had 1-1 experience. 🙁
