God, it seems as if they are still working the 6/10 group 🙁🙁

They are, and it sucks. I for one think they are having some sort of problem over there.
do must reapplicants rewrite their entire personal statement or do slight edits?
only thing that changed from last year for me is i retook the mcat and waiting on the scores
I wouldn't be surprised if they extended the date they transmit the applications at this rate.
extending dates at the last minute is one thing they're not shy about.
AMCAS opening, delayed by a week.
AMCAS submission, delayed by a week.
AMCAS trasmission....?
Just for consistency they should retroactively rescind our MCAT scores and hold them for a week too!
I thought by submitting in the first week (14th ) I'd be considered early, guess I was wrong 🙁
Them taking this long on the 10th was to be expected. Personally I thought they would manage to finish up submissions on the 11th by submission date as well, but others on here were predicting only those who submitted on the 10th would be in the initial batch of applications to go out. It's important to remember that unlike previous years, this year the first day of submissions was actually days 1-5 all put together. In previous years you had to submit by day 5 to get in by first submission, so they're actually about on time so far.
Things should speed up after they get done with the 10th. Since it was really 5 days' worth of apps, there shouldn't be nearly as many for the subsequent days, at least not for another few weeks. I think anyone who submitted in June can be expected to be verified sometime in July at the latest. As long as you get your secondaries in fast, that shouldn't matter.
My school won't start writing my committee letter until my app gets verified... will I have to wait until they submit the letters to have my application released to schools? I submitted on the 13th but at this rate, if I have to wait for my app to get verified and my letter to get submitted, I won't be in the first batch =(
No, your information will be transmitted without the letters! My school won't start writing my committee letter until my app gets verified... will I have to wait until they submit the letters to have my application released to schools? I submitted at 11:09 AM on June 10th and it has said "an AMCAS verifier is reviewing transcripts and course work" since June 19th....7 days ago. Should I be worried about this??
did you get an email saying "an AMCAS verifier is reviewing transcripts and course work" ? I've been ready for review since the 21st.
Nope, no e-mail, I just logged in and clicked on the "details" button and it told me they started reviewing it on the 19th. I saw that people who submitted significantly later than I did were clearing by the dozens, so I called to check my status and they said the automated system had no record of my aamc id, birthdate, and ssn having an application...which totally freaked me out!!! I called back and spoke to a person and wouldn't you know that after twenty minutes of being on hold the person I spoke to told me it had been verified three minutes ago.
If you just submitted for review though, I'd say it's apt to be a while before they start verifying yours, they still don't seem to be finished with applicants who submitted June 10th.
I submitted on the 18th and was verified yesterday. It really seems to depend on how much you have complete in terms of transcripts, etc.

Interesting to note that my status (already verified) displays: "Application has been made available to the designated medical schools."
Even though their initial transmission doesn't begin until the 28th.
Yeah, I think they might have transmitted them. Because I got the same message and an email saying my application had been processed yesterday.
I was verified a week ago, but I just got another email saying that my verification is complete. Now it says "processing is complete as of 6/26." Before it said "processing is complete as of 6/19." What the heck is going on? Did this happen to anyone?

Yep, the same here.
Alternatively, that might just be the default message AMCAS displays when an application has been verified, regardless of whether the 28th has passed.

AMCAS Processing is Complete is the same thing as being "verified" right?
It is. Mine has said that since it was verified on the 10th.
It only says 'AMCAS processing is complete' on the home page, and 'Application has been made available to the designated medical schools' under details.
That didn't happen for me. Even my date changed. After it was verified, the date was June 13. Then after I got the notification about being processed, the date changed to June 25th.
even if AMCAS transmits verified apps to med schools on June 28th as scheduled, considering they have been deprived of 5 days to work, the amount of apps transmitted will be about 5-day workload less than previous years.
also considering primary apps will be sent to med schools on a rolling basis as apps are verified, our applications will be stacked under their piles of apps as they are reviewing the initial batch arrived on June 28th.
so the question is, do we have to despair? or even, do we have to be afraid?
after all, delay is relativistic. where everyone is delayed, you are in time.
exactly. You're probably going to get reviewed after the person before you submitted and before the person after you, so if there's a big overall delay it really doesn't matter individually other than it making the waiting game a little longer.

This has been well known for years, which is why everyone says SUBMIT EARLY, a couple weeks later submission turns into months later on interviewing. At each step people will take their time with your application. Between verification, primary, secondary, interview, and finally acceptance/rejection, you will have to wait. It has been over a year and I'm STILL waiting for final waitlist decisions at some places from last year. I submitted June 5, 2012. Protip: Find something else to do.
