2013-2014 APPIC (internship) interview thread

I only applied to UCC's and it's clear that they are on a different schedule than other types of sites. I've heard back from one of 20. If they're going to drag this process out for 1/3 of a year, maybe throw me some crumbs along the way.
 
Rejection from Kennedy Krieger via mass e-mail. Thank goodness this didn't come before I finally got my first interview or I would have been crushed... Congrats to those of you who got interviews!
 
Interview received from Pacific Clinic's Asian Pacific Family Center (APFC) track via mass email. Interview dates are 1/22 and 1/24.
 
Personalized email from St. Louis Psychology Internship Consortium on 11/26. Interview date 1/10 (no choices offered).
 
Heard from Medical College of Georgia/Charlie Norwood VA yesterday via phone call...all the December dates booked fast!
 
Official Pitt (WPIC) rejection email. Knew it was coming, but, boo :-(
 
Haven't posted on here since i was applying to graduate school, but lurking like crazy. I haven't heard either a rejection or an invitation from WPIC. What could that mean?

That has happened to me with a bunch of internship sites. Many people mentioned that it's possible that we are on their waitlist or their may be pile
 
I skimmed some sections of this thread and wanted to remind folks about something that may help you feel a bit better.

Remember, if you were offered an interview at a site that has multiple tracks, and you are interviewing for more than one track, then you may be submitting multiple rankings for the same site. In other words a single interview at one site where you get to rank multiple tracks ups the number of rankings that you will list on your rank order list, and based on the numbers, this may increase your chance at matching. When I went through this process a few years back, I only had four interviews but I ended up with eight rankings on my rank order list because I could rank certain sites more than once.

Yeah, it sucks hearing about it this way but at least you're ready for the email. That's how I felt about my first official rejection, I found out about it on here so when I got the email a day later it was just like no problem.

Henry Ford Health Sciences Center interview invitation for the Neuropsychology Track - mass email (I think) - dates included January 6, 8, 10, and others (not included in email, but communicated by the administrative assistant over the phone so I don't remember all of them)

I got mine as well....and gaura, you're so right - I saw the email and shrugged it off, the crying had already run its course.

On an uplifting note, I did get my first invitation (making me feel like much less of a failure, or that I had done something incredibly wrong in my apps) from Northwestern Psychopathology Track by phone call 11/26 interview on 1/6 (but they had 4 dates to choose from)

To everyone still waiting for their first invite, keep the faith...this whole thing is awful and we're all in it with you

Forensic applicants: Has anyone heard from FCI Forth Worth? Their interviews are scheduled for 12.16, I believe, but I have not heard anything from them at all.

Has anyone heard from University of Delaware Counseling Center? Or Texas State University Counseling Center?

I haven't personally heard from Delaware UCC, but a friend in my cohort who also applied there said that she was offered an interview via email late in the day yesterday (11/26). I don't have much more information other than that, I'm afraid!

Kind of sucks to hear from a close friend who applied to the same site as you that they received an invite and you didn't! I'm in that awkward waiting phase where I'm now wondering if something was wrong with my applications or with me as an applicant, since I haven't gotten any news at all and this is the second site someone else in my program was offered an interview at but I have yet to hear anything.

I'm trying not to despair too much and just look forward to Thanksgiving with my family. Hang in there everyone! There will be good news soon, I can feel it.

any word from Durham VA yet? They sent out invites last year on 11/21.
 
I received a generic email this morning (11/27) from the Durham VA. Not sure if this is relevant, but I applied to their General Track.

Interview dates are:
Monday, January 6
Tuesday, January 7
Thursday, January 9
Monday, January 13
Wednesday, January 15

Yep, needing to check email constantly is a bit distracting. It is a hard process in any case, but needing to be constantly vigilant for possible offers makes it much worse.
 
Yeah, I set up a sound notification for my email last night. And then the ABCT listserv kept sending me things. 😉
 
Here's todays sad thought of the day: Imagine how we will feel between rank day and match day. That may rival this period of waiting.
