2013-2014 APPIC (internship) interview thread

Well, I've heard from all of my sites and can stop compulsively checking my email. Looking forward to my first interview on Monday of next week and then settling in for a nice holiday season of interview prep with a few breaks to see family and friends of course. Good luck to those of you who are starting (or have already started) interviewing and condolences to those of you who are getting mostly bad news.

We are getting through this!!!

Congrats on being done with this miserable phase and on to getting a chance to evaluate sites (they already know you're wonderful, so all you need to do is be yourself!) - I hope you end up someplace fantastic!
 
Non personalized email rejection from Southlake/Regional Mental Health 12/13
 
Received an expected rejection with the email tile interview invite from Kings County this morning. Thanks for warning me guys.

Has anyone heard from:

Long Island Jewish Medical (adult track) or Friends Hospital (I know they said the 16th, but was curious if anybody heard anything).

Happy Friday and sending everyone positive thoughts.

Still waiting to hear from the Village myself. Heard from IOL- Child yesterday. But I don't know about adult track.

Rejections from Hines VA (last night) and Salem VA (this morning). Kind of knew they were coming, but it still stings a bit...
 
Generic email rejection from the Albany Consortium received at 11 am today.

Generic email interview invitation at 12:55 pm today from the Boston University Center for Multicultural Psychology Training for an interview on 1/16. I had totally assumed that site was a no-go; I guess that's what Dr. Keilan was talking about in terms of not giving up on sites just because they've already sent out invitations. Huh.
 
Generic invite from Kansas State U! WOO HOO! I got an interview!!!!!!! Phone interviews the first two weeks of January. Subject of the email was "Kansas State University Counseling Services Requests an Interview" so nothing vague or misleading about it. I am so happy right now.
 
Has anyone had the gonads to contact Ann Arbor VA? They say they might interview highly ranked applicants to their Open House, but then again, they may not. All aplicants can request to attend. Their notification 'date' is "early December".

Definitely go to the open house. I would call for more info ASAP.

They are very specific about how the Open House does not play into rankings. They have this whole long thing about not doing interviews; research doesn't support interviews as a good selection technique, etc, etc, etc.

I'd prefer not to burn the money if I'm not ranked - it's not real close by.

I haven't heard from them yet.
 
I just want to reflect that now everyone is starting to hear from their last places... I do not think I am ready to let go of checking this forum compulsively and also to go onto the next phase which is solely doing interviews.😵 :uhno:

Phew! They sure had me sweat it out, but I finally got an interview at McLean! They only offered me one interview date for January 24th and the email was addressed to "Dear Applicant".

And... I'm done!!! Heard from all my sites and could not be more happy that this part of the process is over. Good luck to all those still waiting!
 
Central Texas VA Invite. Generic. Interview dates on January 3 (Austin) , 6 (Temple), 9 (Waco). Or telephone interviews on January 14th.
 
Email invite to interview at Wright State consortium on 1/15! Up to 6 interviews... just 2 sites to hear back from!

I don't know about you, but I plan to stick around and obsess over rank orders and match day, too... 😉
 
Invites:

The University of Iowa University Counseling Service (UCS) via personalized email. Phone and in-person interviews.

Illinois State University CC via personalized email. Phone and in-person interviews with instructions to call and schedule starting 12/16.

Rejections:

Iowa State UCC via generic email. It was fairly nice but a little disappointing!
 
Generic rejection from Missouri Health Sciences Psychology Consortium, was expecting this one.
 
Three interview invites in the course of an hour! Woot!

UCSB UCC - Personalized email with phones interviews on Jan. 9, 10, 13, 16 and 17.

University of the Pacific UCC - Mass email with Skype interview on Jan. 6, 7, 9. 14, and 16.

University of San Diego UCC - Mass email with Skype interviews from Jan. 7-21.
 
Email rejection from Institute for Child and Family Health in FL around 1pm. Is it bad that I'm relieved that I have one less trip to make down there? 😵 In hindsight, I don't think I would have been too happy there; I applied to too many sites out of panic... :smack:
