I was feeling this way until today, when I reached rejection #8. I feel like I'm building up an immunity to them! I hope you hear some good news soon.

Thank you! I have 3 interviews, but haven't heard any good news in almost 2 weeks. I'm not feeling too optimistic. 🙁
 
Rejection from CHOP this afternoon.

4 interviews, 2 rejections, 1 wait-list and 8 sites left to hear back from. This week better go quickly.

My interviews are constantly trying to catch up with my rejections..lol So far 6 interviews 8 rejections (!!) and 6 left to hear from...It could go any way at this point! Will this "arm-wrestling match" be won out by the light or the dark side??? :slap: Hmmm...I sure have built a stamina for rejections, though...
 
Tulane Infant Mental Health Track interview notification. Email looked to be just to me but had general text (no name) in greeting. Interviews on the 4 Fridays in January.

what a nightmare. i am so sorry!

could it be a missing letter of rec? those don'ty show on your version of the appi?

That happened to me with one of my apps. I had selected the wrong letter of reference and the system was waiting for the reference's letter to be complete.

Basically, I sent Dr. Professor a request for a rec letter and then sent a second request as a reminder. He responded to request # 2, but I had selected the placeholder from my first request for my app. Since that request was unfilled, my application to Perfect Site (although paid for) was incomplete.

I was able to go into the designations section and edit the selected reference letters so as to attach the right one and complete the app.

Hope this is your issue too 🙂

I had this exact thing happen to me too. It ended up being a glitch on APPIC's end with my transcripts that would not let my applications fully go through to each site. Call them and they will most likely push them through for you if this is the issue. Good luck!
 
Interview invite at U.S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners (generic). Dates offered: 01/18; 01/25; 01/28 & 02/01. Woot!

I know invites already went out on 12/6, but has anyone received a rejection yet? I have not heard either way and want to know if I should start grieving yet 🙂

I haven't ever found anything with shuttles, but Dollar had the best rental rates and they're very nice. SAT is an easy, easy airport. Also Red Roof Inn has cheaper rates if you book directly on their site. You can link their rewards to SWA, too.
 
Hey everyone - today was a good day for me (notifications below)...but I went through this process last year and I am so sorry to hear about some of the crap places are pulling with assigning interview times and sending wrong emails...they should really be more considerate and careful - they know what this process is like for us and how much time, money, and mental anguish goes into it - but alas...some just have no tact. Anyway, I want to send my support to all of you & wish you the best of news to follow. Last year, most of my notifications did not come until the 12th-15th, and two (with 12/15 posted as their deadline) didn't notify until the 16th - about a third were invites - SO KEEP UP HOPE until you have heard 🙂

Invites today:
MercyFirst (obviously rolling interviews - they started mid-Nov so I'm surprised they are still offering dates) - phone call - I believe the dates were 12/17, 1/10, and 1/17, Thursdays, but they just added 1/7)
Milton Hershey - generic email - dates are January 7th, 9th, 11th, 14th, and 16th. The time slots are 8:00-1:00 or 11:00-4:00.
University of Arizona Med Ctr - Child Track - very nice personalized email, however no dates given yet, said I would be contacted shortly to set something up.
Oakland Children's Hospital and Research Center - Behavioral Pediatrics Track - phone call in evening (5:30 their time), interviews are Tuesdays & Thursdays in January (interviews are only ~90 mins)

Rejection today:
Lucile Packard Children's Hospital - very brief, generic email

*Also* re: Children's Hospital Boston - I applied their last year and their brochure had said contact them week of Dec. 5th, so I contacted them the morning of Dec. 6th & still didn't hear from them until Dec. 8th...for all of you who are waiting and unsure whether to email or call, I would just hold out, from my experience and the people who were unanswered today, it sounds like they will just be sending them out when they are ready (maybe Dec. 12th-ish) and so it won't make a difference to contact them beforehand...however, I'm wishing you all a ton of luck!!! 👍👍👍

Do whatever you all need to do for self care & don't let anyone judge you for it or interfere 😉 Unless you've been through this process, it is indescribable - so, to my fellow hopefuls, take care, get rest, and may good news come your way!

We need to email the admin? I thought the letter said to call. Either way, have you scheduled yet? I tried calling but there was no response. I left a voice mail, so hopefully they call back soon

You are totally right. You were supposed to call, which I did. I typed it wrong in my post and went back and edited it. I did schedule my appointment. It seemed like they had lots of slots available.
 
generic email interview invitation on 12/10 for Jewish Child & Family Services (Chicago Area), both locations, interview dates:

Monday, January 14, 2012- 10:00-12:30
Tuesday, January 15, 2012 - 10:00-12:30 and 1:30-4:00
Wednesday, January 16, 2012 - 10:00-12:30
 
Mass non-personalized form email rejection letter from Pennsylvania Hospital. Not surprised and I would not want to live in Philly particularly anyway.... sent at 5:30 in the morning!
 
Has anyone received an invite to the Hudson Valley VA? I saw that some rejections went out last week, but didn't see anything on the master list about invites.
 
The final week. I can say this has not been a pleasant experience. Truly wish there was a better way. I'm sitting here now with 7 rejections, 2 invites and 6 left to hear from in this final week. On a positive note, one of my invitations is to my top spot. So I'm excited and enthused and plan to make the best of that interview. Of course I'm already analyzing the process and trying to determine what I did wrong. I think I made some errors in applying to spots that were a "good fit" for me, but were really out of the realm of possibility. If I don't match this year, my strategy for next year will be totally different. Good luck to everyone in the final push.

Hey was this a personalized email or mass email?? I have been waiting to hear from them too, and it is more likely that I could still hear positively if they are sending them out one by one!
 
Got an email invite for interview! Personalized email with dates Jan 11 or Jan 18.

I had written them off after people got interviews last week so it was a pleasant surprise. They also state in the email that there are 10 slots for each day. I don't know if that is what they have left after last week or if that means there are only 20 people interviewing at the Leavenworth site.
 
It was addressed: "Dear applicant." There are also other interview slots (1/7, 1/10, 1/14), but I was asked to interview on 1/3 in the email. That makes me think that they would send at least 4 different "Dear Applicant" emails.
 
Hello all....

Just wondering if anyone out there is currently at a practicum placement and if so, how are you balancing interviews with practicum? In my program, it is typically understood by professors, supervisors, etc, that most of us will be gone a lot for interviews during Dec/Jan. Most of my cohort has not run into a problem. My supervisor is being a little rigid and its making me extremely anxious about interviews and scheduling logistics. If you have any tips, please share.

I received an email last week, and they had said only 10 spots each day then.
So my guess is 20 applicants total will be interviewed.

My situation is slightly different. Since I didnt match last year, I took a full time job as a master's level therapist. Problem is, now I have 5 interviews and would bet I'm going to have probably 1 more and am struggling with telling them basically that I need to take off quite a bit of time in January (oh, and would you mind to keep paying me full salary while I travel around and look for a spot better than the job I have with you?). Though they have to understand, it's still kinda a crappy situation to put them in and I feel bad about missing so many days in January.

I'm at a pretty intensive practicum. My clinical supervisors are pretty accepting about being gone for interviews, but I'm also in a multidisciplinary program, so that's the main problem-- my supervisors from other disciplines don't really understand the process and aren't as understanding... but my clinical supervisor has promised to run interference for me, so hopefully that works out...

I'm at practicum and try to schedule interviews on the days I'm not there, however, I did have to miss one day and I just told them I had an interview and had to fly out that day. They were very understanding. Time missed for interviews isn't supposed to count negatively against you, at least in my city, but most of us try to make up the hours over time. If a site supervisor was giving me trouble for interviews, I would first go to my seminar leader for assistance, that's what they're there for. My guess is that I might also have to go to my point person in the training department. Good luck.

Hmmm... okay thanks! Semi-generic email, means some hope... I guess. But it does seem unlikely, because i think you are right it sounds like they may have sent out a couple rounds of them. Maybe there are still some rounds left?
 
Does anyone know if Mailman sends out rejection notices? I'm trying to decide if I should continue reserving their interview dates.

Perhaps there are! My email invitation was sent at about a quarter to 9. Good luck Xavierstudent!
