Curious to know if anyone started a thread for the upcoming Anesthesia residency application season? Wishing you all the best of luck!!

Ahh I still remember waking up early to submit my ERAS on Sept 1, at 8 am many years ago. Brings back memories I never wish to revisit. Good luck everyone!

At least they're giving us an extra two weeks. Still feels like it's too soon.

It says "should be" not mandatory. And it is newly posted, I have never seen that before. I am not going to harass my letter writers to do more work when I email them enough to remember to submit my letter in the first place. Standardized letter is a farce, no other program uses it.

May your favorite antidepressant be cheap and abundant. :p

Agree, last years format was absolutely terrible. Thanks boogaloo for creating a google docs - that will be much easier to read.

Np. Let me know if you spot any errors as I made it pretty quickly. I think doing it this way will allow for better discussion about places because we won't be having to sift through a new wall of text every other post.

I respect that, so much more organized.

Only an acknowledgement of receipt of application from MGH. No other news yet.
Ditto, got the acknowledgment from MGH. "Your ERAS application has been downloaded and will be reviewed by our committee in the next 4-6 weeks."

Got one from my home program a couple of hours after I submitted yesterday. I'll update the doc soon.

Jeff you should edit your first post to include a link to the spreadsheet

I went back to last year's thread, and three big things people posted about were: when people received an interview invite, the available interview dates for each institution, and the total number of people who got an interview invite on a particular date. I will start new sheets for the latter two things, but they may be poorly organized for the time being. I think things will become more clear as the interview season progresses, and we find out what we really want to know.

Got this email today while driving. All I saw was "MGH," so I frantically pulled off the road to read it...

I got this as well. Kind of a tease to see that in your inbox while checking your phone in clinic haha

I can't access the google doc from the hospital computers I'm on, and on my phone it won't let me edit it, but you guys left out a program in florida, Mt. Sinai in Miami is a new program that started last year.

I will edit it when I get home if someone else hasn't added it yet. Thanks! Keep adding programs if you guys know of any that were left out. I'll keep track of the changes and will try to keep it somewhat organized.

Great idea about the google doc, boogaloo is ballin.

Just a tidbit to help keep the doc organized: when you add a program onto the first sheet, be sure to add a row for the other two sheets as well to keep it consistent. I've been going through and adding them myself, but sometimes the revision history is a bit hard to follow. Thanks!

I know this format is an assault on the eyes of some, but this is the final update from the thread last year. Hopefully it should give us all an idea of when programs usually start sending out invites. Based on our small sample size, it looks like a majority of schools (2:1) waited for the "Dean's Letter" (MSPE) before sending invites last year (though most not by much). The latest first report of an interview invite last year was B&W on 10/25. The earliest was a tie between UAB, Jefferson, Florida-Gainesville, SUNY Downstate, and UT-San Antonio on 9/18.

*Of note, 9/15 was on a Sunday last year (so the first business day of the application cycle was 9/16) but then again we had the ERAS debacle of '14 so it will be hard to draw comparisons.

please include these instructions when you quote - and refresh the page, then quote the last list available!
step 1: click on the blue "quote" button at the bottom right of the last post
step 2: remove the bracketed things at the very beginning "{quote=username;numbers}" and very end "{/quote}".
step 3: add date you received invite on appropriate line (the italicized number in parenthesis after the date is the total number of people receiving invites on that date)
step 4: include offered interview dates in blue brackets
***Please type what you are adding at the top so people won't have to search the whole post to see what you added!***

So if I'm reading it correctly, most interviews went out the first 2 weeks of October, and interviews pretty much stopped by the end of October? Wow, that's a super small window!

Oh man looks like there'll be silent rejections.. i hate it when they do that. (for those of you who applied to Sinai, they sent msg saying application received, and will only contact you if you are invited to interviews... grr)

Just got an invite from Mayo in Rochester.

Yeah, I got that from Sinai yesterday. Got all excited thinking I'd gotten an interview. Nope. ;) My ERAS email is eerily quiet. Based on these dates from last year though, I'm not too concerned for now.

Please be patient, grasshoppers. The "new and improved" ERAS has a rather steep learning curve, not getting files reviewed as fast as previous years, so may see a lag.

Updated Google Doc under "Total Invites" tab to automatically populate offers versus having to manually input that data and now shows up as one unified column for easier interpretation.

Ditto, got the acknowledgment from MGH. "Your ERAS application has been downloaded and will be reviewed by our committee in the next 4-6 weeks."

I also submitted application to MGH (on 9/16 around 10 pm CST) but have not received this email notification. I'm wondering if this means something is wrong with my application. any ideas?

I have 3 letters and personal statement uploaded, submitted application and paid invoice. Waiting on MSPE and medical school transcripts (10/1).

Probably waiting on the transcript.

Thanks! They probably send them out in batches.

Another question: My med school sends transcripts out with dean's letter on 10/1. Do other medical schools send it out earlier? Wondering if this is a barrier to getting early invites.

Also got invite from Mayo Rochester yesterday. Curious - I shouldn't expect any more programs to offer to pay for a hotel room, right?

My school was able to upload my transcript in time for submission of ERAS. But, the MSPE comes out on 10/1 with everyone else's

This is a quote from the thread last year:
For me last year, about 2/3 of the programs that I interview at offered hotels. Places that I distinctly remember not offering hotel rooms: MGH, BID, Yale, Northwestern...

Hopkins specifically states on their website that they provide you with a hotel room (even going as far as explicitly which hotel you will be staying at).
http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/anesthesiology/residency/apply/interview_day.html

So I guess it's hit or miss. I cannot find any list on SDN. I think we should add another tab on our Google Doc and keep a list of programs that offer free rooms for applicants next year.
