Yes, thank you.A friend applied to the child outpatient track as well as the school mental health track and only received an invitation for the school mental health but no rejection for the child outpatient. I don't know if this helps 🙁.

I am beside myself right now. Thank you 🙂BIG invite! Well done!
I'm curious to hear this answer myself. I've heard of a few people who matched at good sites/sites they wanted through doing phone interviews and also people who have said they did phone interviews they considered to have gone "very well." Then there's other sites that will demand on-site interviews or say daunting things like, "Phone interviews are discouraged, but allowed if NO OTHER ALTERNATIVE AVAILABLE AND THIS BETTER MEAN ON YOUR DEATH BED." I am thinking it really must vary by site, but the thought intimidates me as well! One of those things where it's not "impossible" but probably not very likely to be a good thing. What are people's thoughts on interviewing via telephone/Skype opposed to interviewing on-site ? Of course, the latter is preferred (in the majority of cases); however, on-site interviews may not be feasible for everyone. Are applicants who elect to interview via telephone/Skype in lieu of on-site at a significant disadvantage from the site's perspective? I'm wondering if and/or how sites account for this. Thanks!

I think that's a helpful frame of reference!I will weight in. I attended a panel with several area DCTs a few months ago, and this issue came up. The answer will probably depend on what kind of sites you applied to. It seemed that the UCC and community sites were much more forgiving (and some even encouraging) of skype interviews. The academic health/medical sites seemed to put greater value on in-person interviews. How is that for a non-answer? 😉
Also waiting on this one, haven't heard yet.Has anyone heard back from VA Central Western MA? Their brochure states that applicants would be notified about interview invites by 12/1. Thanks!
I have a couple of questions about the Ann Arbor VA. They do not offer interviews, but do offer an open house to all applicants. Here are my questions:
1. Does anyone have experience with this site and/or the open house? Any thoughts in general?
2. If you plan to attend an open house, they ask that you email them. The brochure says, "Please send us an e-mail message using the link to a dialogue page that appears on the Open House* Web page." In the brochure, the words "Open House" are blue as though they should lead to a link. However, I cannot get the link to open, nor can I find the "Open House Web page" that they reference by searching elsewhere. Does anyone know how to get to this web page?
Thanks so much for any help!!
While I know this is a great problem to have, I'm having some scheduling issues. Has anyone here snagged a North Texas/Dallas VA interview on 1/5? I tried for that date but it was full already (within 20 minutes!). The date I have now (1/15) could work but I have another interview the next morning half way across the country. I've emailed the admin person to inquire about switching dates, but I've not heard back. If anyone is able and willing to switch please PM me.
I'm not familiar with the site but I think this might be the link that you're looking for: http://www-personal.umich.edu/~gusb/broappreq.html
Also eagerly waiting on Palo Alto. New Mexico is supposed to notify today according to APPIC.
As for Ann Arbor, I heard somewhere they send an email saying whether they've decided to rank us as applicants or not for the match. If so, then you have the option to go to the open house if you want. Anyone else know for sure?

So, at this point, no news is not necessarily good news...but it is not necessarily bad news, either. Thanks, that is helpful!I know a bit about the Ann Arbor Va and in previous years they have sent out multiple emails where they would tell you they are not going to consider you or rank you. I attended the open house last year (did not match, hence I'm here) and the director said that he will send out an email stating they will not rank you a week before rank day. One individual from my program has gotten an email from that very early on in the process stating they will not consider him. Hope this helps.
Not a problem, just trying to help one another in this stressful process. So, at this point, no news is not necessarily good news...but it is not necessarily bad news, either. Thanks, that is helpful!
Thanks! I just emailed them. I really hope they have another date. It seems unlikely that they only have one date since most sites have a few, so I am REALLY hoping things work out. It sound like such a great site and I would hate to turn down an interview. Fingers crossed. I will let you know when I hear back.

Invitation for interview
Personal email - I was scheduled for interviews on January 15, 2015, but email states may be possible to see you on one of our other interview days which are not given.
Which tracks?I have two friends who were invited via email today. Interview dates: 12/17, 1/7, 1/9, 1/14, 1/21, and 1/23.
Interesting idea! I don't want to stand out based on what I'm wearing but you all make a great point (about feeling comfortable and confident). I should also add that I'll need to pump during interview days (ughhhhhh), so I need something easy and quick to get in and out of so I can pump quickly on breaks without having to ask for accommodations (oh the joys of being a new mama).
Thanks for all the advice! Guess I'll keep shopping. It's a good distraction to waiting to hear back from sites anyway! 🙂
