I think someone on another thread commented and said that it was the C/L track, but don't quote me. I remember the SDNer specifically saying that it wasn't peds neuro.

Did anyone else apply to Rogers Memorial or Institute for living? Wondering if anyone heard anything.
I'm 900 miles away, and I got the invitation yesterday. Kind of surprised there wasn't a mention of a phone interview, but I'd rather go in person anyways! It looked like they were having interns send out the invites, so it may depend on who is sending them out. Good luck!

Someone earlier asked about the Ann Arbor VA open house. I went last year. Not a lot to add on top of what others posted, aside from that they do ask you to fill out a name tag. Of course, all of the open houses that I attended had name tags.
They make phone calls and a friend of mine received an invite on Monday.

Cara, the brochure says that they send an email to top ranked applicants to encourage them to come- did you get one? If so, when did it come? I'm getting super impatient!

Just received a rejection (from a site that was already mentioned) that I applied to in phase ii of last year and was told that I was their next choice. They "strongly encouraged" me to reapply this year and said that I should "have no problem matching." Way to give a girl a false sense of hope. Always the bridaid and never the bride 🙁

I did not, but I know someone else who did. From checking my conversation history with them, it looks like it was around Thanksgiving.
I never got any notifications from them aside from confirmation to attend the OH after I signed up. I never was told if they were going to rank me or not. Someone else from my program applied there and also never heard anything. We just assumed that no news was good news.
Bummer. Sorry to hear that. That does sound very dissapointing. How can they make such kind of promises to begin with?! That would be a red flag. It just reminds me of my previous externship site where I was told that people who externed there would usually get an internship there, and interns are often hired thereafter. Well, this site was ARGOSY heavy and maybe, they have a contract with them. All interns and most externs that year (and previous years) came from Argosy. It probably applied to them, not to me. Needless to say, since I am not from thier school, I got a rejection for my internship app. I should have known prior to spending $25 `\_('.')_/`
Are you meant to reply to rejection emails (e.g. say thanks for letting me know)? I am guessing not to the mass emails, but to the personalized ones at least? Some rejections are so painful....
I would say if its before the deadline or personalized, I would reply; I feel like they are being considerate to people in a lower position (i.e., us). But if they have already sent out mass acceptance letters two weeks before, and wait until nighttime one the deadline, that's not very nice (considering people were probably checking their emails and phones every 5 minutes when not working).

I think this is a GREAT question, and I would be interested to hear other's perspectives.
For a couple of sites, I have replied and asked for feedback (using tactful wording, of course, since this is a busy process). I have done this at sites where I think I would be interested in doing a post-doc. Not only does this demonstrate thoughtfulness and openness to feedback, but I also want to know what the perceived weaknesses are of my application, so I can try and address those during my internship year. Again, I would certainly not do this for every site, but those that you have specific interest in and see yourself trying to pursue at a later date.
If the letter came straight from the DCT AND was personalized, I replied and thanked them for their consideration. I have not been replying to mass emails, or "personalized" emails sent from an administrator or other staff members. My thinking is that if the DCT takes the time to email me, then I can take the time to send a genuine response.
Others have thoughts on this?
I would probably hold off on asking for feedback until the Match is over. Sites are SUPER busy right now. I also wouldn't reply to rejections, I think sites are assuming that you received it so no need to confirm.
I like what you are saying and it makes total sense. I do have a site I'd like to reposnd to. It is a reject from the DCT but without personanl greeting, just "Dear applicant." Any thoughts?
I too wish I saved my money. I could have spent it on another site. I thought what he said was odd and should have viewed it as a red flag.
Agreed. It sounds like a red flag! That's how we gain experience....and can do it differently in the future
Did they reply to you confirming your date yet? There's only one date I can realistically do.. yikes.
What as been your experience with responses from the DCTs? I was considering do this for one of my top choices, where the DCT sent a very nice personalized email.
For what it is worth, I have done this with only 2 sites --- both sites that I fit fairly well with on paper. At one site, the DCT sent a very kind response and said she would be happy to follow-up in a couple of weeks. The other was just as kind and was able to provide the primary reason for not moving my application forward --- an area of weakness that I suspected might be an issue.

Just got a mass rejection from Tulane University School of Medicine. I applied for the child track (can't recall what it's called exactly).
My first rejection, and it's not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.. even though I'd love to go back to new orleans.

That's so odd that they rank EVERYONE who applied. I contacted someone I know who went there for internship to see how it worked for her. I'll let you all know when I get feedback.

Sorry to hear that. I interviewed with them for externship and did not like the vibe and decided not to go there...
I still have not gotten an invitation or a rejection from Greystone. Anyone else in the same boat?
