Did anyone else get a different date, or was this the only one offered to everyone?

Yes, explaining this to my parents is impossible! They seem to think that I should also be able to negotiate a salary and ask for sites to pay for hotel/travel accommodations.🤔

Or the people who think that we get actual offers from these sites, then we can just pick which one we want to go to.

....what.

Dear Applicants,

We would like to extend our deepest apologies and regrets. A significant administrative error occurred where notifications to applicants were not appropriately processed. As such, it appears several applicants received an invitation to interview for one of our internship positions; however, many invitations were sent in error. You will each receive a corrected e-mail within the next hour. Again, we are deeply sorry for this inconvenience, especially given the high anticipation that occurs within this time of the application process.

Warmest regards,

The Village for Families and Children.

That is awful. AND then they can't even take the time to just send the individual emails clarifying the status of each applicant? They just send this mass distressing, ambiguous email? Not a great first impression for anyone applying there, to say the least...

So it turns out I got this too - apparently on 11/19 (it went to my spam folder, but I didn't see it, even though I was checking). I have no idea what to do with this. Is it just a really noncommittal rejection or a wait list status?

I really don't either! My mentor suggested to rank it anyway, since we have the option and to increase the probability of matching. That is assuming I would be okay with ending up on an internship at a place I did not visit.

I called my mom about getting an interview on a different coast, and she asked me, "So do you think you're going to go to the interview?" I had to explain to her that interviews are like precious rare gems... you don't get one and then just say, "yeah, I'm gonna toss this one back." Ayayay. I'll be happy when this process is over and I can stop trying to explain this madness to other people.

The cookie theme is cracking me up!!! Somehow, I feel bonded to you all so much more because of that. I ate cookies (they were bite-sized, those are dangerous) last night and thought of you all.

Richmond McGuire VAMC
Invite (but they won't say which tracks applicants are being considered for until tomorrow in a separate email)
Dates offered: 1/5, 1/9, 1/12

The part of the email that cracked me up was the instructions for responding:

"Please Read These Instructions and Follow Them (it is a test)"

.....this from the site that apologized for adding to applicants' stress last Friday, then compounded it by not notifying yesterday as promised! Maybe they just have a dark sense of humor 🙂.

Invitation from the McGuire Richmond VA via mass email. No track specified in the email. Interview dates on 1/5, 1/9, and 1/12.

No news from sites today... but 1 cookie, 2 brownies, and 2 non-specific baked goods. That just happened.

I get that sites interview a bunch of people and it takes a while to organize everything...but seriously...waiting for confirmation of interview days is a humongous pain in my patootti, especially when multiple invitations come in a day. I'm banking on getting my first choices...if I don't I'm going to have a huge issue.

Did anyone else get the horrible string of 5 email rejections from UCSF-SFGH CAS.....accompanied by an email from an admin worker saying "My sincerest apologies. We erroneously programmed an email to you." :wtf:This seems to be a day for program f-ups. The worst part is I worked in that same program three years ago....and the TD wrote me one of my grad school LORs. *facepalm* This process makes no sense!!! /endrant

No news yet from Central Regional...

Has anyone else not heard from Mendota? I saw that they sent out invites but I know of a peer who received what appeared to be a mass rejection yesterday.
