I remember last year being really discouraged by people who had a ridiculously high number of interviews, who I later found out were matchx2 people. They have more hours, more experience, and better application skills since they've done it before. Makes sense. The "average" last year SEEMED to be around 5 interviews (again, this is just based on people who shared and who were not matchx2 people). But in all seriousness, the numbers are all speculation. Either way, I know people who had one interview and matched, and a few people who had 7ish and didn't match. It's all about the sites you're interviewing at, the way you present yourself, and ... honestly...luck. I had an okay number of interviews last year, but only got interviews at places that took about one or two people a track. I may have interviewed well, but luck was not on my side.Good point- I think I also skewed the data by reading about those who didn't match in last year's thread- they seemed more open to sharing interview numbers at that point.
