Put on hold today. Interviewed 11/4.
Oh god i interviewed that day.
What days did the rest of you interview?
Put on hold today. Interviewed 11/4.
Does SUNY Downstate have a waitlist too? Or is hold their equivalent?
Hmm that seems fast. When I interviewed last Monday, I heard that it would take 7-8 weeks to hear back. Anyone get an acceptance that fast? Or maybe bad news comes faster than good news?Put on hold today. Interviewed 11/4.
Congrats!!I was accepted today via snail mail. Interviewed last week of October. I am so thrilled, downstate is one of my top choices.
Congratulations...Quick question..Do they also notify the acceptances by email or some other means. Or is it just snail mail. As I have seen postings where in folks also recd a notification of acceptances by email as a followup to the snail mail.ACCEPTED VIA SNAIL MAIL! First acceptance, and from a school close to home too. Soooooooooo excited right now. Interviewed last week of October.
Does anyone know how an acceptance into their MPH program affects your chances at their MD program? I know they say each admissions process is completely separate but is there any correlation between both programs?

Ditto, seems to be the norm for Downstate.I only got snail mail.
+1I received an acceptance letter for Downstate's MPH program, but haven't even received an II from the MD program. I understand that the admissions processes are separate, but this seems odd to me...

How did you all apply to the MPH program?
I selected it under "programs" when I added Downstate to my AMCAS app.
In the same boat here. Any other news from people who interviewed on/around October 30? Starting to grow anxious because I've heard nothing.I interviewed the last week of October and expected to hear back the end of last week like the others on this thread who interviewed around then.
I didn't receive an email or a letter... Should I call and inquire if a decision has been made on my file and I just didn't receive it? Or, just try and be patient and wait to see? Don't want to bother the admissions office, but I'm starting to get anxious...
relaxed, conversational. What's the interview here like?

I would personally wait a while longer before bothering to contact them.. When I interviewed I was told to expect a wait of up to 8 weeks.. If you get past the 2 month mark and still no word, then you might want to give them a quick call if you feel like it.

Thanks for the MPH acceptance?
+7 damn I'm really disappointed by this one, this is the SUNY I really wanted. LM ~65, complete late August (pre-II rejection, assuming everyone else is as well)+6
No love from NY 🙁 really stings following stony brook...
Rejected pre-II complete Sept. 17 OOS
Any non URM's with a 29 MCAT get into Downstate? I already had my interview earlier this month but I just noticed the MSAR says that the bottom 10th percentile for MCAT here is a 30... Does that mean I basically have no chance?
I think you definitely have a chance. By definition, if the 10th percentile is a 30, then the 1st-9th percentile are below 30. Also, the MSAR numbers are for all students accepted to a particular school, not just the ones who matriculate, so they may tend to be skewed upward a bit. Keep the hope alive, getting an interview is a big step towards an acceptance!
