I thought that same thing but then decided to think positive and register for MATCH. You probably will get at least one interview. for that reason alone, you should just register and get it done with =). What's another $90+ when you already spend hundreds for PASS lol

Does anybody know how to submit the 3rd PEF to schools? UNLV pedo requires 3 PEFs but PASS will only submit 2 on your behalf. So I'm not sure if I should get my reference to print out the PEF and send it directly to the school.
 
I thought 3rd pef is basically the institutional / dean letter!
And you can send it manually if you want as well
 
Any other LMC interview invites anyone? I'm waiting for Mass site.

I guess if I haven't gotten any invite from the LMC california, it means a no-go for me eh??? 🙁 bummer

I am pretty certain LMC Tucson, Hawaii and California are done giving out interview offers (unless they have cancellations)

hi.. i think my doubts are out of the context.. but would be really obliged if ul could help.. i have completed my BDS from india and a MDS in Pediatric dentistry from here itself.. are there any MSD/Residency or an equivalent program which will allow me to practice peds in the USA too.. also what are my chances of getting into one..!! (non-resident/no experience in the US) my email is [email protected]

Did you check your Spam folder? I read this and realized I didn't receive an email either then scoured my Spam folder and noticed the interview invite there. LMC-California wanted a confirmation by 9/6/13.

Yes that's where I found my California invite too...but Tucson made phone calls so I'm pretty sure Tucson isn't making anymore offers...
 
I should have used my school email for more official. my spam folder deletes automatically quite frequently... do you guys have a contact #? May be I can call and inquire....
I know that Tucson called so I got that, email is quite unreliable I think.🙁

Tufts doesn't seem to have a preference of location, they have residents from all over, and not necessarily from their undergrad. I know at least one first year pedo who did a GPR first and another who practiced for a few years.

It depends on the program but for some programs the residents opinions count pretty heavily....I'd say only skip it if you have no other choice.

Anybody else apply to brookdale? PASS states the supplemental app will be mailed but I still have not received anything - unable to reach the program coordinator via both phone and email.
 
I got an email from Brookdale a couple of weeks ago that contains the supplemental app to be mailed to them along with a photo.
 
I just got a rejection email from Buffalo, too. Bummers.

Kpooh can i ask when you submitted your PASS app?
I also got a buffalo rejection - havent heard from any LMc sites yet so im assuming those are a no as well.

They emailed me a couple of weeks ago with the supplemental form. They also asked for two 2x2" photos. Since PASS also says they require a CV, I emailed them about whether they wanted a CV as well and they said they did.

SUNY Buffalo had several interview dates to choose from.

Does anyone know what it means when it says that you've been invited for a "post match interview"? My LMC Yakima interview said that I've been invited for a post-match interview on October 10th. Wondering how this works.

I bet the Yakima email was the one they used last year when they were still a post match program. They are no longer post match from my understanding...but I'd email them to question it

From LMC's website: "For 2013 application cycle, LMC- Springfield, Missouri, and any sites with openings after the MATCH results are released will follow these instructions"...doesn't mention Yakima

It depends on the program. Earliest was maybe 2-3 days after submission of PASS app for me.

Received correction email this morning that it was a mistake. Interview is for the regular match.

Thanks molarprep! This is my second year applying and so far I have 3 interviews so early in the season!!...so if I have any advice for first time applicants keep you heads up...if its not meant to be your first year it's ok...go out, get experience and re-apply 🙂
 
How many interviews are good # to have for match? is everyone planning to go to all of them or start rejecting at a certain #? How many interviews did you go last year kidzteeth? This is just very pricey! Thanks for the advise.

I think that its hard to determine how many interviews are good - there are people who have 1 interview and they match....

I plan on going to as many as possible again - though I know there will be a LOT of overlap in November interviews so it won't be possible to go to all of them. I think that if you have an interview you should go because you NEVER know how things will work out.

I figured with everything last year it was about $700/$1000 per interview with flight, hotel, food etc

I had 7 interviews last year - 5 that were for match and 2 post-match interviews.

Thank you for sharing your previous experiece. 🙂 Can you share some of the interview questions that you remember being asked last year? I am trying to prepare a bit for what could potentially be asked because on the day of the interview, I know that I'll be too excited/nervous to think straight! Thanks.

Some of the questions that I remember:
-Why did you chose pedo?
-Tell me about yourself
-3 things you like about yourself, 3 things you'd change about yourself
-Where do you see yourself in 5 years
-How many SSCs have you done?

I thought that for the most part, interviews were really laid back - they just want to get to know you to see if you're a good fit 🙂
