Only have 5 prelim invites and sitting at 14 rads invites. The prelim thing is starting to get me a little nervous. Anyone else in the same situation/advice lol?

I would recommend emailing your top 3 programs a letter of interest including details of why you would like to train at their program and what ties you have to the area that the pre-lims are located. I was in a similar situation where some of my top pre-lim programs did not offer me interviews but once I expressed interest and they realized that I had ties in their community, they promptly offered me interviews.

Hello, all! I've been a silent follower of this thread and appreciate all you have done! Thank you, thank you, thank you! It has definitely taken some of the anxiety and surprise out of waiting for interviews. That being said, I am wondering if any of you applied and received an interview for Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles for prelim. It was actually going to be one of my top choices but I got the ding a long time ago. If possible, could one of you PM me with contact info for the KP Los Angeles prelim administrator? Thanks a million!!!!

so can we still get anymore interviews now for rads or is this about it here.

I wouldn't be giving up hope yet. I've received several invites over the past couple of weeks from schools which presumably came due to others canceling (even though they were some top tier schools). I imagine a few more will come in the next several weeks as well.

Would anyone mind posting the interview swap thread?

I need to swap my OHSU interview if possible. I am currently scheduled for 12/10/2015, I am looking for 1/7/2016 date. I apologize for posting this here but seems nobody is checking the swap thread.
Thanks

When you tried to switch your date, were there other dates available? Just curious if there's still a chance more interviews are coming... Anyone heard about a wait list?

I emailed the coordinator who said the "review process will be complete by this week" (yesterday) and that "all applicants will be notified of their status on the first of next week."

So I suppose that means there may be more interviews to send out.

I emailed the coordinator who said the "review process will be complete by this week" (yesterday) and that "all applicants will be notified of their status on the first of next week."

So I suppose that means there may be more interviews to send out.

Didn't hear anything the last few days...

Would like to swap UCSD interview. Scheduled for 19 January. Would like 11 January. Thank you!

For anyone who's interviewed at the Lincoln TY program in the Bronx, do you remember roughly what time the interview day ended?

Has anyone heard back from NYU regarding details of the interview day? Or does anyone know the approximate time we'll be done? Thanks!

Should be done after lunch. Think there's an optional housing tour so many another 20-30 minutes if you chose to do that.

This is maybe directed to the current residents or anyone who knows lol. When are final rank lists usually completed by the programs? I know technically the rank list deadline for students and programs are both feb 24th. But do programs generally have their list completed and put into the nrmp before that said deadline? I guess the reason why I'm curious is I have a 2 papers that are pending publication into a fairly decent American medical journal, but I won't get the final approval until Feb 5th, and wanted to update these programs if I do get approved lol (fingers crosses). Is it pointless to update them that late bc rank lists are pretty much submitted by late January and rarely move even with new info from applicants?

Does it matter? Just go ahead and update. If they've made their list, it's irrelevant. If not, it'll be a bump. There's no way it hurts you. I know it's easy to go crazy at this point in the cycle, but really just try to relax.

Anyone interviewing with Emory on 1/8 and would like to share a room the night before? Thank you!

Would anyone that interviewed at UPMC be willing to post the program's fellowship match list or message it to me? I seem to have lost mine :^(

I probably have mine in one of my many folders.. I will if I find it. All I remember is that I interviewed with an IR attending and he said IR is their biggest weakness.

UCLA interview. Scheduled for 19 January. Would like 27 January. Thank you!

Can someone post/send me the list of current residents at MGH, Stanford, and Mayo?

Could use some advice. Sitting at 12 interviews with only 3 prelims. Was just offered a prelim interview that accepts 12 prelim students but it's on the same day as on of my radiology interviews. Should I cancel the radiology interview and only be at 11 for rads and than 4 for prelim. Or keep the radiology spot. It's not my 1st choice but it's certainly not my last choice for a program. Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂?!

Hoosierdaddy: I would keep my radiology interview. It's much easier to scramble into a prelim spot later on (more positions (surgery, ty, medicine) and it's only one year) than end up in a radiology place you may not like for four+ years. And if the preliminary program is giving you an interview this late in the season, the chance of them ranking you high isn't very good

Greatly appreciate the replies, kept the rads interview 🙂!!!
Ah dang, was too busy (on internship, as it goes) to respond to this in time. 11 rads interviews is (way!) more than enough, but having a 4th prelim interview could potentially give you a lot less indigestion in March.

That was kind of the same thinking that I had, oh well if for some reason the prelim thing doesn't work out I'm a USMD with a decent application (applied to way more transitionals than prelim med and suffering the consequences) I'll hopefully scoop something up in the aftermath even if it's surgery lol.

If anyone applied to these programs and have the dates they were given for available interviews, if you can please post them. I'm curious to see when in the season they interviewed. Drexel, Harlem Hospital, Nassau University Medical Center

hey guys i recently heard bad things about a certain program that begins with T in boston from a fellow interviewee. He says that apparently ppl he's talked with has said negative things about the program (malignant ect) and I was just wondering if anyone can shed any insight into this? I thought it was an OK program when I interviewed there that day but maybe I missed the red flags???

Absolutely not true (know from personal experience, not hearsay). Faculty are great teachers with great personalities, PD really cares about resident education. Residents are laid back and not malignant at all. Don't believe all of the things you hear on the interview trail, better to go with your own impressions.

thx i really appreciate it. I just get concerned about it thinking maybe I missed something or for some reason they're hiding it really well.

IIRC Kevin Kim (who really improved Emory's IR) was at UPMC for a very short while but eventually went back to Hopkins. I wonder why. He probably would have really strengthened UPMC's IR program.

Anyone else been getting love letters from the programs at which you interviewed?

I don't know what to make of that. Should we take these emails literally or with a grain of salt? And I thought programs werent allowed to do that!

They're allowed to tell you whatever they want, they're just not allowed to ask you how you're ranking them. Personally I'm treating most post interview communication as BS. It should be about your preferences. You have the upper hand, don't be swayed by recruiting messages.
