2016-2017 APPIC Internship Interview Thread

Anyone who did this in years' past- can I count on the day to end by 2:30 if the site has indicated "around 2:3o?" I am struggling a bit to book travel. I'd love to not cut it close, but the flights that leave later than what I'm currently looking at are super expensive. Thanks!

There are medical schools sending out invites also but it doesn't mean that they're sending them all out. No one knows their process

Also worth noting that sites that send personalized invites by definition have to take more time to write them -- they're probably not just sending them out all in a blast.

I assume that they have NOT yet gone out, as I haven't heard back either way. Fingers crossed we hear something soon!!

I cut it close to save money for 2 sites. I regretted doing so for both. Not worth the stress, and I think my anxiety started showing through toward the end of the interview day.

What is cutting it close? An hour, half hour? That could make a difference too.
 
@123EW - I appreciate the advice! If the interview ended at 2:30, I would have 30 minutes to make it a 15 minute drive to catch a bus to the airport. I think I may just rent a car.

If the person who got the Community Healthlink invite sees this, could you just send me a quick message with the date you submitted your app? My understanding is that the site is offering rolling invites and I'm curious about how long it might take them to get to mine.

For those applying to BOPs and have begun/completed the USAjobs application process: Did you have to answer corrections-related questions (hypotheticals) or was it only clinical competency questions?

Hello all. In that drop down menu on the APPIC app, it has come to my attention that I selected "WAIS III" instead of WAIS IV." Good news is, I've started to get interviews (my CV is correct, thank god). Email everyone? Risk it? I knew I would find the mistake eventually 🙂

I did this 2 years ago, but if it's the same thing AND my memory is intact, I believe it was just a typical job application and answering a bunch of questions related to gov't service (i.e., previous gov't employment, any felonies, any military service, etc). You could upload a resume, but they recommended you build one on there. I applied to another job on USAjobs earlier this year and just uploaded my CV and it was fine. When you pass that part, you will have to take an exam on site that will be more of the hypothetical corrections-related questions that all BOP employees have to take. I think you need an 80 to pass that one, and it's kind of tricky.
