I expected this one, based on the info from this forum. Still a little bummed! Oh well, back to the Ben & Jerry's 😉+pity+

Four sites to go!

I was rejected there as well, which was a big surprise for me. What info are you referring to?

Has anyone heard from University of Puget Sound Counseling Center? They were supposed to get back to us today.

Did anyone apply to WVU Health Sciences Center/Dept. of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry - Charleston campus? They don't extend actual invitations, rather ask that you reach out to schedule an optional site visit on certain dates. I've reached out to the TD, but haven't heard back. Just wondering if anyone has contacted/heard from the TD or someone from that site?

I applied to this site fairly close to the deadline and the TD replied. In my email, I acknowledged the limited number of on-site interview slots they have. This was his reply:

Dear Ms. XXXX, you are correct that we get more interview requests than we can meet, but we don't require visits at all, and many of our interns are accepted without visits since we depend completely upon the AAPI, by which we know everything about you but your shoe size and favorite color. We look forward to reading your application material, and phone interviews can easily be arranged. With best regards, John Linton

Others in the forum stated they had received interviews a while back. After a few weeks passed and I didn't hear anything, I sort of anticipated it.

Anyone else unable to attend Boise VA's phone interview due to Tacoma's interview? Really wanted to do this interview but looks like I will have to cancel...I wish they were offering more than one date.

I too am unable to attend the Boise VA in-person interview. I really wanted to visit the facility, but will have to settle for a phone interview. I guess it's a good problem to have.

REVISED: did not realize you were unable to participate in a phone interview with Boise. They suggested a phone date that I couldn't make work and I offered an alternative date.

....ooof. I was expecting it, but this one hurts the most.

Random question regarding thank you note emails after interviews. I had a phone interview this week with some of the staff at an internship site (not the DT - that is next week), but their email addresses are not posted anywhere on the placement's website. If I do some deeper digging into the overall organization, I can find them, but I feel a bit stalker-ish doing that. Any thoughts on how to proceed?

Hi Anybody is doing couples match?
if you, how do you rank?
do you rank with consideration of the geographical closeness to your partner or how you likes the sites?

thanks.

Personally, I would dig deeper. I think thank you notes show you're interested in the program. If their emails are on the overall organization's website, I think you should email them. Even if you have to look on LinkedIn, I think it's okay, any more than that might be too much. I've been asking for email addresses at the end of the interview so I can contact them with additional questions, I use that email for the thank you notes.

Awesome, thank you!

Waiting on 4 this week, 3 next week, 1 to wrap up the year, and 1 in mid January that I probably will forget about until I get the notice.
I'm comfortable with interviews I have to this point because they are my tops, anything else I get after this is just security and a little holiday bonus :luck::luck::luck:

I hope everyone have been able to de-stress a little by now.

My wife and I are! We are ranking based on geography!

Awesome! wonderful that I am not alone (with my husband). 🙂
So I guess ... I may be not clear but... let's say you like site in NYC but then your wife does not have anything in NYC, but both of you have interviewed in Philly. So you rank Philly as first and then follow with individual preferences? Cause this is wquite different than if you were as individual? right?
if you were alone - you would rank NYC since you like it best?

I am glad we're not alone too! If you want to exchange contact info, let me know. As for your questions, I think reviewing the couples match details on the APPIC website was pretty helpful on how to match.

But to address your questions directly, it sounds like your understanding is correct.
RANK 1: Partner 1 = Philly/Partner 2 = Philly
RANK 2: Partner 1 = NYC/Partner 2 = No Match

Do you all think that applying to an internship close to the deadline (or on the deadline) hurts your chances of getting an interview? Does anyone know if this would cause them to (a) think you're not interested, (b) think you're a procrastinator, and/or (c) look at your application last?

I do not think it matters...

I turned in many applications the day they were due and got interviews at those sites, so I don't think it matters as long as they are on time.

Hey guys i know we're all freaking out but i want to remind everyone that at the end of the day some messed up stuff is happening in the world and we're all safe and doing well...not that we haven't worked hard or that internship won't effect our lives but what we have is first world problems ... i pray for what's happening in Syria.

Good luck on interviews!:highfive:

Ok, thanks! I applied close to the deadline as well. I still haven't heard back, so I'm not really sure how to approach this in regards to speaking to supervisors and ranking. The website says to contact supervisors in areas of interest and the TD to discuss the program and have questions answered if a site visit cannot be scheduled. But I'm not sure how it would be interpreted if I emailed supervisors without having spoken to the TD yet. Any fellow applicants have any thoughts or experiences with this?
