... skipping too far ahead, @Ad2b :slap:

starting with ... baseless confidence, unfounded hope, irrational optimism...
followed by ... unending boredom, increasing neuroticism, constant fidgeting
in addition to ... denial, anger, bargaining, depression

rinse & repeat - as many times as necessary, at least 3 for best results

Yes, yes we will. And we will celebrate. We will rejoice. Then we will conquer MS1. 😀

was it tufts? because that is what happened to me
I sincerely appreciate reading this today! I sent a question to an admissions office recently and the secretary told me that my best bet would be to talk to the director of admissions. I did, explained my situation 2.6 UGPA/2.4 SGPA, asked my question and got laughed out of his office.. WE CAN DO THIS! It just requires LOTS of time and tenacity and dedication even in the face of daunting odds and people who don't believe in us!

NO good coach ever went into a game saying, "Well, gosh I think we're pretty darn good but who knows how the end result will look. So, let's go have fun" and won a game, or kept his job.

I'd caution you on thinking you know my tone and tenor :nono:

Update: After making a TOTAL NUISANCE of myself for two hours they finally got someone to go look out on the tarmac where my bag was just chilling there all lonely, so suit re-acquired holy crap.

I have to admit, after having psyched myself up to show up to an interview looking like a bum, it's almost anticlimactic 😛

Now for five hours of sleep!

Even if you didnt have your suit, I"m sure adcoms would understand.

Got my fourth II today, which helps with the disappointment of being rejected by Cooper and Brown these past two weeks. Minnesota here I come. Is it weird that i instantly started comparing Chicago (where i have my acceptance) to Minneapolis when i got the II? I think city dynamic is as important, or more, for me than many school factors, assuming the schools are on relatively equal footing.

$$ is more important than anything for me. haha

I just got rejected from Minnesota 2 days ago! Good luck there 😀 I hope it will go well for you

Hey, I think it's pretty legit. Yes it's med school and you're not going to be out partying every night, but feeling like you have what you want around you for those breaths of free time can be really important. In my opinion, anyway 🙂

Good luck!

I got a few rejections these past few days and I DONT CARE. All it takes is one acceptance . I got rejected from brown UCI KECK Rochester Washignton they can eat it ! HA FEELS GOOD TO HAVE AN ACCEPTANCE!! I noticed that most places that I went the med students seemed to embrace partying hard. I personally don't like to party as much anymore. I can party pretty hard, like these kids have NO idea, but I just rather keep it to myself ! LEts say that I can run my car until the wheels falls off -literally 😉! But in these days all go for
Something more healthy such as hikes and swims.

I am hella stoked to be joining the profession with you, my dude. 🙂

who is snugseal?!?!?!?!?

Nutshell: Many moons ago I posted something about having had a dream where I said something ridiculous at an interview and posted the Awkward Seal meme. @Gandyy (I think) was like 'What the heck is going on in that picture?!' and @Okazaki Frag Grenade said the seal looked snuggly.

It spiraled into massive silliness from there. 🙂

Woke up at about 3 o' clock this morning having had a dream that I was interviewing at Harvard (I do not have an interview at Harvard), and when asked the "Who would you take to dinner?" question I said: James T. Kirk.

...the sad part is that is totally something I would say.

I think he looks snuggly

lol. Attack of the Snug Seal 4 Coming out in theaters nearby!

more like an awkward eternity from there...
I'm snuggly stuck with all you awkward people...

Do you think there is a financial incentive to go to an interview at a school I likely would not attend?

I have a two MD acceptances, two MD interviews I plan on attending, and two MD interviews to places I would not likely attend over my current acceptances. Do you think that having additional acceptances will allow me to have more leverage in my aid package receipt? I am mostly debating my CO interview, due to the COA for OOS students - school looks great though.

I don't think having a higher number of acceptances would change your aid at any given school, but I could be wrong. I think they would basically be taking your word for it that you have other options anyways.

Schools that accept you can see your list of MD acceptances in February.

Anyone else still waiting on ~15 schools? I really thought I'd hear back from a few by now. MD: 2 holds, 3 rejections, 2 II, 16 silence.

Yea, I think I am waiting on about 14-15 schools. Have heard nothing at all from them.

Just finished another interview. I loved the school but the interview started off awkward and made me more nervous than I have been at previous interviews. The interviewer even asked whether I was nervous, made a note when I said "yes, a little", and told me that doctors need to be strong leaders. Sigh. And I loved this school so much.

The whole interview (1 hour) seemed mostly to be "tell me about a time when..." questions, and for some of those I just couldn't think of anything on the spot. People with admittances: did you blank on any questions? Did I mess this one up, or is this just standard post-interview neuroticism getting to me?

Minors, I told an interviewer that I was very nervous and that I had long journey and that was my top choice school. Is like going in a date with someone that you really like. You play all along how you going to act and how cool
You going to be, then when is time you just freeze and have major brains farts ! Lol I bet you did good ...

Totally normal in my opinion, I felt the same.

Those behavioral interview questions are a killer. . .

Guys...I finally turned in a secondary. I applied to med school. This is it. *pats self on back*
(I know I'm late but I usually get all my materials ready for school about every year, then decide last minute not to go through with it and wait till next year! Failure is okay as long as I'm moving forward. That's "progress".)

YOLO!

Is that the only secondary you've turned in? I mean this with love here, but I suggest waiting till next cycle for the rest. It's REALLY late now, and it's better to not be a re-applicant next year 🙂

LOL, thanks party pooper. It's the only MD [in-state] school. All my other schools are DO and according to @Goro I'm still in the clear. Meaning I'm not too late.

But since you mentioned it, if I don't turn in the secondary does that mean I don't have to mark myself as a reapplicant next year (even if I turned in the primary to that particular school)? Just checking...

Oh lol fair enough 🙂

That is a good question though. I think you're still considered an applicant, but I'm not positive on that.

I read a thread by gonnif (i believe) somewhere on here recently that if you only need to declare yourself a reapplicant to a school if you've applied to that same school before. It was on a thread about the early decision program if you want to try to search and find his exact comment. It was pretty illuminating.

Good luck!
