Please post your thoughts and experiences, when you get interview invites, etc!

Good luck everyone!

I'll start: I'm applying to 11. But my letters are not in: they are uploaded but not processed by ERAS :(. Anyone else in the same boat?

Yes, thank you for starting this thread! I applied to 8 total. I had the same problem for one of my letters but it was finally processed by the EFDO today. Pretty sure a computer could do "quality control", don't you think?

I'm sure programs know about the delay so it won't be a big deal.

Anyone know the general timeline of when the interviews start going out? My guess is late July to early/mid August will probably be the highest percentage?

Still waiting for my application to be submitted since LORs still being processed. Any clues as to how harmful this can be?

No clue. It's pretty early in the season and I'm sure PDs know about the letters issue. I don't think it'll matter much considering most likely the interviews won't start going out for another couple weeks?

Well my letters are finally in! Let the fun begin :)

People should post as the interview start rolling in. It sounds like some specialties have already started sending out invites...

Pretty quiet thus far. I heard back from Rutgers. Hopefully more good news to everyone this week.

Who people have heard from so far:

UT - Southwestern
Rutgers
Cohen Children's Medical Center - LIJ

Is it me or are NICU programs just a little behind the other peds specialties in terms of sending out invites? Or is this just an extra-competitive year?

I think it may be too early. It has been quiet from this end as well. I've gotten a couple of "application received and we will start reviewing" and "we have Recieved over 60 applications and will begin to review.."

last year the bulk of interview invites appeared to be the second week of August.

I applied to 10 programs. Either north east or west coast. I guess we have to stay patient.

Applied to 13, heard from 1 so far (everything submitted and uploaded prior to the 15th)...
The waiting game continues!!!

Just to be clear, did someone hear from UT Southwestern or did you mean to write "UT Houston"?

UT - Southwestern
Rutgers
Cohen Children's Medical Center - LIJ
USC- Children's LA

Whoops. I meant UT Houston.

Yeah it seems like next week and especially the week after that is the highest yield for invites.

I'd like to add University of Virginia and Wisconsin to the List - (as i've been told from my fellow residents)

Thanks! Do you mean MCW or UW?

UT - Houston
Rutgers
Cohen Children's Medical Center - LIJ
USC- Children's LA
University of Virginia

I think it was MCW. A birdie also told me Loma Linda

Although this entire topic relies on self reported data I feel as though second hand information is potentially the least reliable information and shouldn't be included in the tally especially if there is some uncertainty regarding the institution. But again, this is just a collection of very loosely reliable self report data anyway.

I can confirm University of Virginia from my friend as well. But yeah, I know what you mean.

Pretty sure that most programs have sent at least their first batch of interview offers by now. It looks like most programs have received anywhere from 60-100 applications each. Not sure if there's more applicants this year in comparison to last year. Last year interviews were offered all the way in august and first couple of weeks in September.

Also, if the Hopkins on the list the one in Baltimore or St. Petersburg Fl?

I am only applying to six programs, and I've heard from most of them. Two that I haven't, I'm wondering if they've sent out interviews yet - CHOP and Children's National?

Along the same lines, has anyone heard from Stanford or UCSF?

I have heard from Stanford several days ago, but not UCSF. -- I am a visa holder, and it looks like UCSF depends on T32 grant a lot. If so, my application may not be glimpsed at all.

My interview season is starting next week (to coincide with the beginning of my Nephrology elective :p)....anyone have any impressions so far? If you don't want to post in public, you can PM me and I will post them (anonymously of course).

Alrighty peeps, how are interviews going? How many total interviews are you going on? I have done 6 right now, and am debating cancelling a few of my others as I feel like I can match at a few of the ones I have already seen and am just feeling burnt out.

I am going to end up going to 8. Yeah, it's a long long process.
