My mom stalks the forum too!!!! She bought me the acupressure mat when she saw everyone talking about it on here. Gotta love the forum moms hahaha!

I felt the same way lol. At like 12 something am. I was like oh please tell me you’ve changed your mind...nope! And then like the bottom was attached to the previous message. I have already deleted all the reject threads from my email so I don’t have to be reminded daily and it came back.

A TD sent an email today and as I opened it and saw several paragraphs, I got jittery and excited :nailbiting: only to realize it was an extremely lengthy tease. He just wanted to let us know they got our applications and they would be letting us know their decisions in the near future... :nono:

I would love to think myself as a mythical creature, but I exist year round. And I take offense to the old white dude climbing a tree. Can't a TD be a "young" attractive female? 😉

That being said, I think applicants get more anxious as the years progress, yet the imbalance is improving. And don't overthink what you wear. As long as you look professional, I likely won't remember your outfit. But if you show up in jeans, you'll definitely stand out (this did happen one year).

I love that you responded to this and I second the leather pants. I was actually thinking of going to interviews based on what the state is known for. So, for example, Wisconsin would be cheese and Florida would be a pineapple.. etc. :clap::clap::clap:

If you showed up to my site like that, I might like you more! I would think you researched the area well and are excited to live in my state! 😀

ACTUALLY...Hawaii should be pineapple. In Florida you would definitely want to go as a flamingo or gator😉. Very, very classy we are.

Haha! Totally could be young and attractive I just have the picture of a professor at my program who used to be a TD.

I wonder if we are getting more anxious or just less ashamed / more openly dramatic about it.
I think about this sometimes - the dawn of shows like new girl = all the proud anxious weirdos

Sometimes being overly dramatic helps me feel better about the actual level of real anxiety I feel lurking inside me. Gotta blow off steam somehow!

are you talking about Child and Adolescent Services (CAS) Multicultural Clinical Training Program/ University of California, San Francisco/ Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital?

I'm definitely actually more anxious and being more dramatic about it too, but I think its mainly the long duration of anxiety that's killing me right now....

Same - except then I remember that I applied to a lot of West Coast sites, and so their 5PM isn't until 8PM for me. And some places really work until 6PM, so that's actually 9PM. And then I check my email again a few times.
 
omg love the idea of dressing up for what the state is known for. or a costume. i always love a good costume!

one of our profs told us a story of someone who showed up to an interview as "forensic barbie" -- head to toe in pink and stilettos. prof said she wasn't kidding but i'm like, seriously?!

also, had a TD at a practicum site tell us they got an interviewee once who had like, a psychotic break and showed up to her interview in her wedding dress. i feel like that would be me (mind you: i dont even have a wedding dress). but let's hope not LOL

Ahhhhh, I'm sorry!! I've been at my placement all day teaching DBT skills to all the dysregulated kids (and me, a slightly older dysregulated kid)!! But maybe teaching skills also helps, because I got an invite!!

Not a TD (lowly supervisor), but can confirm that I smile when I see someone excited to get an invite to my site, and feel the sads when you didn’t get an invite.

It's a different program it's the combo Pre/Post doc site. I haven't heard from CAS yet.

For those on the beh med track, there are a few really great sites in the midwest and NYC that are still accepting apps! Onwards and upwards 🙂
