Just to show how crazy this whole thing is, I got a rejection from Montana today (the site I panic applied to last minute because I got a bunch of rejections in a row). So to put it in perspective, I have interviews at 4 pretty competitive sites and a rejection from Montana amidst others, but still, Montana?!? They had approximately 34 applicants last year and interviewed 28... What the heck?!?! #neuroticneuromatch2017

I have had similar outcomes. My interviews were to 4 competitive and 1 reach. I was rejected at every.single.safety school. Those hurt quite a bit. So I feel you, but this process is not linear and no amount of predictive statistics can map-out interview invite and rejection success. We got this, we're almost done with this!
 
As I am feeling pretty blasé about rejections from sites I was expected to be rejected by anyway, I’m thinking a lot about the protective nature of pessimism today.

I had a site say phone interviews were permitted on APPIC, and then in their interview invite email said that phone/Skype was not permitted and that if I could not make either day then I should "withdraw [my] application". They only offered two interview days, both of which are filled, so I had to decline. 🙁 it feels WEIRD declining an interview.

For every gif I post, I've already suppressed the urge to post at least 5 others. I need noise SOMEWHERE in my life. I'm (supposed to be) working on a paper and I'm pretty sure the urge hits me after every sentence I manage to finish.

"Ooooohh, I finished a sentence. Time to find a new gif!" This is my life now...until Friday. :annoyed:

I am also waiting on 8 notifications. Haven't heard anything about these sites on the forum. [emoji848]

So received news the only dates open for Memphis VA are January 8 and 12. I already have interviews scheduled on those two dates and was wondering if anyone who had been assigned to the 22nd or 26th could switch with me?

Yay, me too! Haha re: guidance centers, people keep asking me if this is The Guidance Center in Long Beach... why are there even 2 sites in SoCal with such similar names?? Just to confuse everyone? :wacky:

Kept myself relatively busy today: babysat for a friend, had dinner with another friend, and then did trivia night (The Office Christmas episodes trivia!!). I know I've been on edge lately but this was in full force when the announcer guy read the last question of the last round and then said "ahh, that's kind of hard, let's get rid of that one" and I STOOD UP and yelled "NO IT IS NOT, WE KEEP THE QUESTION!!!!!"....and then everyone turned around and stared at me. For several seconds.

APPIC has officially taken away all of my chill.
