Hey y'all! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I'm starting this thread to discuss MIS/Bariatric surgery fellowship interviews as they come. Good luck to all!
Hi everyone,
I am applying MIS/bariatric surgery/advanced GI this year. I finalized and confirmed by application to the programs I wanted on December 2nd but I only had two of the four letters of recommendation uploaded. Does anyone know if the programs automatically get the other letters once they are uploaded, or do we have to inform them by email that the additional letters were uploaded? Thank you for any responses.
What are my chances?
I am training in AOA and ACGME accredited program. I have poor ABSITE scores hovering in the 15th percentile for the three years. My ACOS (American College of Osteopathic Surgeons) Inservice tests are better mostly in the 50th percentile. I have excellent LORs, one ongoing surgical research, and excellent operative numbers. I have applied to 110 programs across the country. I would appreciate your inputs. Thanks
Thanks so much for your advice. I am just hoping that I don't get stricken off before the interview due to my ABSITE sores.Don’t worry about trying to estimate your chances. I have seen the most amazing candidates get struck down and the supposedly not so optimum candidates match well. So just do your best at the interviews and hope for the best.

Univ of Iowa: 3/2, 3/9
NYU Winthrop: 3/5, 3/19, 4/2
Do I need 4 LORs? I only had 3.
Nope... I'm far far away from NYC. Sometimes its just luck of the draw.Good to hear @AnxiousSurgeon. Unfortunately, I didn't get that call. Curious, are you from one of the northeast programs?
How many interviews do all of you have at this point? I am a little underwhelmed with the response from programs so far.
