2019-2020 Albert Einstein

I have a feeling that other schools operate like this, they just don't make it as obvious. For example, there are many a school which I applied to in July and had an automatic system that marked me complete the second that I paid. But I haven't heard anything from them since then. But because Einstein doesn't do automatic complete marking, they draw attention to the fact that applicants haven't been reviewed.
That's my theory. That OR the admissions office looks like this idk idk

Today marks the 10th week after receiving the "In the process of being complete" email...... Anyone else still not completed? Submitted in Aug and still nothing.....
Submitted mid-August and got the "will be notified in 10 weeks" email in November. I emailed them sometime last week asking approx. when my application will be complete and got a complete email this week. Might be good to email them.

In a way I actually appreciated knowing that they weren’t going to say complete until they actually reviewed my file

The only reason it stressed me out is that we had no way of confirming that all of our materials went through no problem. I like the automatic check for materials as 'complete' and then maybe a notice of review later on. Other than that, its the same as everywhere else.

I made the mistake of calling them and they did not receive that well lol

With the first round of acceptances coming out early next week, I wanted to post here and field any questions you all may have about Einstein. I'm a current MS4 and I've loved my time here. I think Einstein is a special school that probably has the best quality of life of the NYC programs and I'm glad I chose to come here. We're a really competitive program when it comes to matching for residency, and so far this year we've matched 6/6 in Optho and 4/4 in Urology. In years past, people have had no problem getting into their top choice, whatever that field may be, and I think that really boils down to how supportive the faculty/mentors are here. Feel free to send along any questions you may have!

PS: For those of you stressing out about waiting for a response, I feel your pain, but try to be patient. We have a wonderful admissions office that tries its best to really comb through every persons application to look at the person as a whole (and not just the numbers). We regularly interview into April and a good portion of the class comes off of a waitlist, so don't fret just yet!

do you know if decisions for all interviewees pre-new year are coming out next week? or do they do them little by little in order?

Heard a lot of good things about Einstein in addition to what you've mentioned and definitely a school I am excited about. I was just wondering, would you be willing to share anything negative about Einstein or something in particular you don't like about the school? Even if it is a small complaint.

Sure! I would say right now the downsides are that if you're looking to live in the city, this isn't exactly that. The campus is really a campus in that there's a quad, everyone lives together and there's more of a community vibe. I personally love it but I can see how it may not be for everyone. That being said getting to manhattan is very easy and I do it 2-3 times a week.

Another thing I would change is the elevators in housing. Luckily everyone at einstein, (including housing management), are super receptive to feedback and make appropriate changes happen fast. Also elevators should not be a problem since renovations should be done by the time ya'll start.

Just got the complete email, submitted early August. I agree it's kind of frustrating to not get an immediate complete email, but it's also kind of cool to know when they're actually done reviewing your application!

+1, completed in July

Sorry if this has been asked before, but is this school receptive to ITA emails? I have an interview at another NY school in March but love Einstein and I'll be there for a few days

Has anyone had their interview location listed the same as the admissions office room? Is this common? feel free to PM

Idk how common it is but some interviewers do their interviews at admissions (I think they take you to a room nearby, it's not literally in the admissions office) and others do them in their own office (at one of the hospitals or clinics) or one of the nearby buildings, it doesn't mean anything, just depends on who's interviewing you

I sent one in earlier this month and haven’t heard back yet for my upcoming Feb 13th interview at another NY school.

They definitely do accept them though! Sent it to the admissions email on the website.
