2019-2020 Albert Einstein

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If it’s anything like undergrad, the FAFSA has been asking for the tax return of 2 years ago ( 2018) instead of the most recent ( 2019). It switched 2 years ago , when I asked about it they said because some people won’t have their tax returns done until April ( and that’s too late), and most people’s income usually doesn’t change drastically within 1 year.

its not the FAFSA its the school specific questionnaire thats asking for 2019

So I submitted mid-late September and never received a complete email hmmm
Is it a little too late to email/call and ask for an update on my app?

I didn't - what did it say?

"I am happy to inform you that the Committee on Admissions has completed its review of your application, and was very impressed with your academic strengths, and your service to your school and community. At this time, we are now in rolling admissions status.

We appreciate how important this status may be to you, and we want to be able to answer your questions, and support you through the remainder of the application process as much as we can.

We are eager to hear how you feel about possibly attending Einstein, and would appreciate your responding directly to this email...."

I copied the above from last year (2018-2019) forum where most people believed the content implied a high priority wait list. So I wonder if anyone received similar content in this cycle 2019-2020.

Is this pre-II? Sounds like they want some love letter before granting anything, which seems...odd.

I have an II here, but the only dates left now are March 24, 27, 30, 31. Does anyone have any idea how many spots they will even have open this late in the game? I am coming from far and am not sure how great my odds are given the timing and already low interview to acceptance rate.

when was your interview?

Anyone else get an email to submit the deposit? I think they sent it by mistake - the subject was "TEST0109Congratulations on your acceptance! Please read carefully." and the link went to "page not found". Tried to email them back but no response yet.

Got it too. Formatted like a spam email lol. Kind of turned off by how sloppy Einstein has been all cycle with their admissions office

I'm interviewing here next week. Does anyone know the turn around time for decisions after the first wave?

I called them yesterday. She just kept repeating that once they have a decision we will know. But she didn't confirm or deny if any post-ii R's have been sent out. She made it seem like if we didn't hear back yet, they just don't have a decision yet. So maybe they're not 100% sure about their R's yet.
Interviewed in November, and have not heard back anything. Still hoping for the best!

At one of my other interviews, one of the interviewers told me “no news is no news”. It could be different school to school, but they mentioned that if someone you interviewed with gets a decision and you don’t hear back, most likely they just haven’t gotten to your application yet. Apparently they’re processed somewhat randomly, so they cautioned against reading into how long the decision takes. Hope this helps 🙂

Any updates guys. So far we had to do:
1)Acceptance acknowledgement form
2) technical standards
3) Certiphi

Correct?

No news about deposit yet. Acceptance email stated it will come April 15???

what is a second look? Is it them reviewing pre-II apps or post II apps a second time?

For accepted applicants, did anyone receive the email about missing the Certiphi background check deadline?

I did on Friday. Just log onto Certiphi and there should be an option to release your results. Just click the button and they’ll get it in a few min. Just a heads up, you don’t receive an email confirmation from them once they’re released, so I just gave the school a call to make sure they received it

Thanks for the response! Did anyone who did not submit the certiphi on time get their acceptance revoked?

If we were accepted before February 19th, then we don't have to select the "Plan to enroll" option on the Choose Your Medical School Tool yet, correct? When do we have to do that by?

U guys think they’d be willing to provide more information on where exactly we are on the waitlist if we call?

Everyone just hang tight. Doesn't hurt to give them a friendly call, they're probably insanely overwhelmed with applications. But I agree, it was a bit frustrating with Einstein--I will say this though, if you get a chance to interview there, the school is AMAZING. Great location, housing is killer and everyone in NY seems to be very friendly...pizza EVERYWHERE! LOL.
