Following the yearly tradition, here is a thread for people to monitor how AMCAS is doing on verifying applications.

Hey @wiswal , you got verified already? I don't mean to sound neurotic, but I submitted at 9:46 AM and didn't hear anything back. It just says on my AMCAS screen: "Application - Submitted to AMCAS - Ready for Review". Did you get an email from then when it was all set? I'm just wondering when mine will be checked.

I got an email when it was completed, you submitted pretty close after me so I'd imagine your's will be done tomorrow (or Monday at the latest)

Thanks for your feedback @wiswal. Given the recent experiences AMCAS has in regards of technical difficulties, I had a feeling that there was some delay on their end (just that they didn't notice yet). But, your post gave me some (temporary) peace of mind. Cheers!
 
Giving this a kind bump, as I haven't heard back from AMCAS despite submitting on 9:46AM of May 28th. Don't mean to drive up any more neuroticism on SDN, but I tried to called AMCAS to ask what's up and the lines are so long that I can't even join the queue. Any news?

They may be slightly backed up because of the hype about submitting early this year; I'd imagine you'll be verified within the week!

Is it normal that people are getting verified so quickly? :O I thought it took at least a couple weeks

if you submit early enough it can take hours, a few days. Then quickly progresses to taking weeks as apps pile up. Then drops off towards late July/August in a typical cycle and app verification is relatively fast again. You can see this data for last cycle here:

Reddit/SDN represent a very "particular" kind of applicant that tends to overwhelmingly submit within the first 5 weeks of app opening. To anyone reading that is absolutely not necessary. That said, if your app is ready and you have time to work on it theres also no good reason to just sit on it either.

Yes, I don't meant to increase the neuroticism on SDN and sorry if I did. @wiswal , @UnparalleledDreams , my app is under review. AMCAS closed already and it is still under review (overnight?) I'm glad to hear that your apps got verified today, especially you @UnparalleledDreams . We are app submitting twins haha. Is holding apps overnight common?

Anyone having trouble with AMCAS receiving transcripts?
I sent it in with Parchment early May, two weeks ago, and last week and AMCAS still hasn't marked as received.
 
Hello @wangb , not sure how much this will help, but I was trying (and unsuccessful) to cal AMCAS today. They had a message saying it will take up to 10 days for AMCAS to receive your transcripts and another maximum of 15 days for AMCAS to process and upload (or I might have mixed up the order). Either way, there are going to be a lot of delays. It may take upwards to 25 days, so unfortunately, your 3 weeks "makes sense" in this case. Unfortunately, as others have said, AMCAS is delayed a lot this year.
 
@HouseJC, i see thank you for relaying the message! I was just concerned because all my friends have it received and marked within a week except for me. Hope it wont be too long

What... lol. I submitted my application 5/28 9:46AM (2 transcripts). My file was under review since yesterday and is still under review. No emails and prompts from AMCAS either... anybody know what is going on?
 
When posting guys, please copy the previous verifications so that there's a comprehensive list for people in the future instead of just posting your individual one

Has anyone who mailed in their transcripts got it marked as received? Coz I mailed in mine on 05/05 and still haven’t seen anything. Also, I forgot I attach to the transcript request form with my transcript, would that be ok?
Also, does anyone know if AMCAS would accept official transcripts emailed to them through vendor (the National clearinghouse)? They only mentioned about having registrars contact them on their website but mine wouldn’t do it. So, I just used [email protected] as recipient email. Thank you

I'm really concerned about being verified by July 10. I'm planning to submit my application today but one of my transcripts seems to be delayed and may not be received until June 8th. I know that things are really unpredictable this year because of COVID-19, but do you think I'll be able to be in the first batch of applications sent to schools?

@Lucca, any chance we can "pin" this thread? Think it'll be important for others to see the trends in submission vs. verification dates given how messy COVID-19 has made everything this year.

What do you mean by delayed? And are you sending by e-mail or snail mail (which can take upwards of 25 business days?) Regardless, I suggest you submit (but proofread!) as soon as you can, as the longer you wait, the more "behind" in line you will be in being sent as the first batch to the schools. I stress on proof-reading, as the last thing you want is for you to press submit, find mistakes in your transcript entries, for AMCAS to send it back to you and submit (and wait again). Good luck!

I requested that transcript through Parchment (electronic vendor) and another transcript through my undergraduate institution (also electronic). The latter was marked as received within a day, but it's been 8 business days since the Parchment transcript was "delivered" to AMCAS. I'll try to submit as soon as possible after proofreading. Thank you!
 
@biscuits18 , no problem. Perhaps call AMCAS to make sure and follow up, but be warned that the line-up is LONGGGG

Hi everyone!
I have submitted my AMCAS application but it is still on hold. I graduated in May 2020 but my degree will not be posted on my transcript until June 29th. Should I order my transcript as it is ( will have all my courses, grades but not my bachelors listed on it ) or should I wait until June 29th ? I really want to make it among the first batch. Does anyone have any thoughts/comments to share ?
 
@sky5, the first batch of verified applications will be sent out to medical schools on July 10th.

As of this moment, AMCAS is posting: As of June 5 AMCAS is: Marking electronic transcripts as "Received" that were delivered on May 22 and paper transcripts as "Received" that were delivered on May 13.

Even though you submitted your application, it will NOT be verified if AMCAS doesn't receive your transcripts. At this point, transcripts are a bit delayed. So, when they do receive your transcripts, you enter the queue for verification. Late June - early July is traditionally when AMCAS is busiest and with COVID-19 this year, the delays could be even longer. All in all, I don't like your chances of making it among the first batch. I don't think it will matter if your degree is not posted.

Yes, AMCAS will indicate processing is complete on your profile and send you an email. In addition, if you download your application file, it will when your application was verified. Good luck!

Hello all, I've made a website to track app verification and transcript reception. I'll be adding the data from here as well, but for people who are looking and have yet to have your transcript marked as received, feel free to add your data to this website!

AAMC Tracker (https://aamc20tracker.herokuapp.com/)

The way it works: put in your sdn username. This allows you to come back later and update the website with new data (eg if you get a verification update). Then put in the dates you submitted and verified (and optionally when + how you sent your transcripts in). It'll automatically plot the data once you refresh the page.

Based on the rough trend I have so far, verification times seem to be logarithmic!
