None from mine! But we were told there will be a lot of WL movement this year, so I think it's not a question of 'if' but 'when' particular schools choose to start pulling from the WL pool. In any case, I'm staying optimistic - bring on that A!

Where did you hear about high WL movement? I'm curious if anything definitive has been said.
Already anecdotally seems better then last year, at least in the SDN community

I was told at my interview to expect to be WL as most applicants accepted will spend some time on the WL.. I'm guessing to protect their yield with the unknowns of virtual interviewing?

my dean of admissions said that it's not a guarantee that there would be a ton of movement (and this is what makes me nervous), but that it wouldn't be unlikely at all given the state of things. REALLY hoping it starts soon at my school
to give u some positivity/confirmation bias, I’d never tell any applicant that there would be more movement if I was involved in admissions. So yeah, even if there is more movement, admissions will try to be conservative with their words just in case. 😉

I mean...feel free to email them, but I would not encourage you to do that. They aren't going to tell you something meaningful without communicating it to the entire waitlist. The only possible thing that would likely come out of it is that you will pester them and possibly not leave a great impression for your application. The waiting is incredibly hard, but not something I would feel comfortable doing.
I think the best practice is to only send one LOI and I'd probably refrain from sending another since you don't have substantial updates.

Yessiree! We're in good company, there's a number of us on here. But from what I've seen on SDN, most applicants accepted right out of the gate at UVM were high scorers. I'm an ESL student (and a lower stat applicant haha) so I get why I was WL but our time is coming! The number of people who withdrew and posted is also super comforting 🥰
I need them to send that A before May 7th so I cancel my retake 🥴

anyone else about to go crazy bc their WL schools have been silent today? LOL....i know it’s been only one business day after 4/30 but my moodswings have been wild this morning. Like, should I be glad since I have not been excluded from the movement (since there was nothing) or should I be anxious bc of silence...?!????!?!??!??!!??

Hi everyone! I've been lurking for a long time, but this is my first time posting. Congrats to everyone who's been accepted! What is generally considered to be a reasonable timeframe to ask someone to write a letter of rec? I'm on 2 waitlists and still waiting on any type of post-interview decision from my third school, but if I need to reapply next year, I need a DO letter. I'd hate to ask a doctor to write a letter and then not actually need it, but I also want to make sure I get my application early. WL movement hasn't seemed to start at any of the schools I interviewed at, so it's really hard to gauge.

yes this is killing me. there were ppl getting calls yesterday and today nothing. you cannot tell me they filled up the class in one sunday!

I wish this process AT LEAST had that level of consistency and predictability. That way, I'll just check once a day and move on with the rest of the day instead of constantly wondering in the back of my head if I'd hear back anytime soon. It's so ridiculous that we have this chaotic mess where we can hear back literally ANY time of the day (even very late at night for some schools) and ANY day of the week, and the worst part is, this can happen anytime between now and July. It is so mentally exhausting for us on the waitlist!!
With that said, I really appreciate your supportive messages--they've kept me going during this stressful time. Really appreciate all of you and wishing all of us good luck 🙂
It mentally and emotionally drains me to even think about re-applying for another cycle (and especially retaking MCAT) but I don’t know how long I should hold onto the hope of getting pulled off WL. The school said I was in the upper tier WL, but I’ve already seen a good number of students accepted already so I’m already just anticipating the worst...

Hey friends who are getting spam calls, FYI you can sign up for the do not call registry. I did it a few weeks ago and I rarely get spam calls anymore

the agonizing wait has been harder than any other part of this process in my opinion. at least before you had something to work toward to focus on. now we are at the mercy of others lol
