2020-2021 Weill Cornell

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Went through last year’s thread and found this post by PreMedStudent55555. Seems like late next week would be a good bet considering they finished interviews this week. These are when first posts regarding decisions were posted:
2020: Friday March 13th (decisions largely around 3:30 pm PST
“2019: Friday March 8 (First Acceptance at 3:03 PM)
2018: Thursday March 8 (First Acceptance at 3:21 PM)
2017: Thursday March 9 (First Acceptance at 1:32 PM)
2016: Wednesday February 24 (First Acceptance at 12:14)
2015: Thursday March 12 (First Acceptance at 10:31 AM)
2014: Thursday March 13 (First Acceptance at 10:13 AM)
2013: Monday March 11 (First Acceptance at 9:38 AM)
2012: Thursday March 15 (First Acceptance at 9:06 AM)
2011: Tuesday March 8 (First Acceptance at 9:51 AM)
2010: Wednesday March 3 (First Acceptance at 2:55 PM)
2009: Friday February 27 (First Acceptance at 11:22 AM)
2008: Friday March 7 (Can't find SDN Thread)”

Best of luck friends!

That's a next level amount of research/speculation lol

Good job combing through last year's thread. And thanks to @PreMedStudent55555

anyone know how receptive they are to letters of intent?
I am not sure but from what I have read, non-binding letters of intent are not given much consideration by schools like Cornell. I may be wrong.

But, it might be too late. I am sure they've made their decisions by now. I may be wrong, again.

the only full ride im aware of is this dean's diversity scholarship that's for like 1 person i believe. otherwise, cornell is just debt-free. if you got money you wont get too much. if you're very low-income, you can expect full COA
How is the deans diversity scholarship given?

Here is a direct copy n paste from the email:

We are writing now because you may be eligible for the Dean’s Diversity Scholarship, a full-tuition scholarship inaugurated by Dean Choi in March of 2018 for the purpose of supporting diversity at our medical center.

The Scholarship will provide full tuition and can be renewed for up to four years. Eligible students include those with a demonstrated need for financial aid who, in the opinion of the Diversity Scholarship Committee, will best advance the diversity of the medical student body.
Is it only racial diversity? How many students get this?

Thanks so much for sharing —- you received this email this cycle? Before learning of their admission decision?!?

While we await from current MS to tell us if they know anything, what's the confidence level of fellow neurotics that it will be this Friday?

We wait and wait and then finally an email on Friday afternoon

"Greetings!

We need more time. Thank you for your patience.

Warm Regards"

They responded pretty fast to my withdrawal email if thats worth anything lmao

O we know nothing
With covid and all, we’ve had less of a hand in admissions (like no tours and stuff)

cornell is honestly awful at communicating so just be ready for the ball to drop anyday
Thanks. Will wait. No other choice anyways 😂

“Thank you for informing us of your decision. Your application will be withdrawn from our admissions process. We wish you the best in your future scholastic endeavors.

Best,

Weill Cornell Medicine”

my fragile ego is now preserved
Do ya think you can "ask for a friend" if decisions are coming out this week or next week?

Me too! He is in a completely different field. That’s the most stressful part for me because I want the best for him professionally.
Yeah I’m trying to stay in major urban cities where his career could grow!
