how has WL movement been at UTMB?

also interesting story but I was traveling last year and I met someone who was telling me their daughter got into UTMB when I told them I'm applying to med schools -- interesting connection!!!

i know of at least 6-7 offers just on sdn these past 10 days : / the rest of the movement has been quite slow for tmdsas tbh so it’s even more disheartening. and what a coincidence! thanks again dude and same from me to you

Does anyone else feel like their heart is getting stabbed each time someone gets off the waitlist at the school they’re waiting to hear from?
yep. my top choice school also sent a survey asking WL folks to indicate whether the school was their top choice, and it’s confusing to me to see people get in and say they did NOT indicate it was their top choice. not saying they don’t deserve an A, but it just feels weird when the school KNOWS there are people who would commit in a heartbeat and they’re getting passed over

Sometimes the actions of these admissions committees make no sense

how crazy is this process making you guys? I literally went to a tarot card reading psychic asking if id get in and I check the accepted student's facebook group member count daily so I have already lost my mind completely (ps psychic said yes but dw I'm still writing my re-app lol)

When bad times are hitting, this is my jam

it's so hard waiting for the results of my only MD interview, which happened late match. I don't even know if there are going to be spots left in the class by the time they get to my interview week. and I won't be hearing back for another month. 🙁
let's just hope there's vacant spots for us all soon!

Yes. And I think the part that folks don’t talk about is that sometimes there are folks that you’ve been chatting and commiserating with in a school specific thread, and then in DMs, and then suddenly they’re in, and you’re happy for them, but you’re also a bit lonelier. One less person who understands what you are going through.

This has happened to me a couple of times over the past few weeks. I’m just trying to take it a day at a time now.

Is the May 15th date relevant to DO schools?
I think it’s for TMDSAS medical schools. After this date, they can’t make acceptance offers to Texas resident applicants who already have an acceptance at another TMDSAS school.

“After May 15, AACOMAS reports to each institution the names and candidates for its entering class who hold an acceptance(s) at additional institutions. An osteopathic medical college may rescind an offer of admissions to a candidate who has paid deposits to or holds positions at multiple institutions.”

ohh gotcha. so what about MD schools - is it the same for them?

Read
1. AMCAS info on CYMS tool
and
2. The schools relevant to you to see when they require a commitment.
Individual AMCAS schools can set their own commitment dates.
