I prefer to use PayPal but what happened was…

To pay the deposit, I clicked the green "Submit" button, which redirected me to the PayPal checkout. However, I realized I was logged into the wrong PayPal account. I returned to the homepage and logged into the correct account I wanted to use for the $2,000 deposit. Now, the "Submit" button is deactivated, indicating that the payment has been submitted, even though I haven’t paid any amount. The message says the button will reactivate in 24 hours. Does this mean I’ll be able to complete the payment then? Thank you.

I waited for the PayPal to load and then completely forgot about it. So I got the same thing. Don't worry, just wait 24 hours, your "Submit" button will be clickable again and will direct you back to PayPal. There's a $72 service fee to pay via Paypal though

Hi all-
1. I have not received anything in the mail as far as my official acceptance letter goes. I was accepted 12/16. When should I expect this?
2. I work A LOT and will be out of town a lot this year so I have to plan for the requirements and what not- when do you have to do the background check and drug test and all that jazz by? When do they send out the information for this?
3. Do a lot of people live off campus? Is it more expensive to live off campus?
1/ I received the acceptance call on 12/16 too and my acceptance letter arrived right on Christmas Eve :x
2/ The requirements are for vaccination and titers that can be done in like 1-2 visit. Only the HepB vaccination would take like a course of 6 months for all 3 doses. I believe they'll send the background check and drug test information some time in Jan or Feb.
3/ From the interview, most students live on campus for convenience and lower price. From a quick check on apartment sites, the rent is roughly $800-900 but that doesn't include utilities yet

Most of us live on-campus. Super convenient. Not sure if it’s cheaper off campus, but utilities and ease was enough for me to stay on-campus OMS-I and II

Thanks. I am looking at the convenience of living in the on-campus housing. Any negatives or things that would be helpful to know?

For the current students on this thread, how do y’all study? I don’t know where to start once we begin in July.

Nope nothing negative. Sign up for the waitlist as soon as you get the email from housing. Second years just got our clinical site assignments and also an email from housing if we are renewing or not, so expect to be offered on campus housing starting soon

Basically get the lectures done on weekdays and make our anki cards/flashcards/notes and try to memorize what we can. Then Sat-Sun sit down with our flashcards/notes and lectures slides and memorize that weeks lectures. And process continues next week.

they’ll give you some advice but a lot of it is trial and error, not everyone studies the same so it’s really up to you to figure out if something is working or not

i personally go to every lecture and take notes, then review what i struggled with during the actual lecture and work based on lecture objectives to link concepts and write out pathways. i’m a visual learner so i do a lot of color coded charts and pathways to keep things in my brain

Thanks for all the advice! What are the exams like? Multiple choice, written, etc. and would you say they align with lectures pretty well?

Please help. I can’t find any page on current ARCOM students. I hope someone could share some insights. Thank you!

What is the COMLEX pass rate here? I heard it wasn’t good recently?
How are clinical rotations set up? What is the radius of clinical sites from the school?
Is the faculty supportive. Would you say this med school is a nurturing environment?
Is it easy to avail of the campus housing?

Clinicals: you rank 15 core sites, and the computer does its algorithm of placing you at a site. Clinical department takes into account certain circumstances (family, etc). Sites are in AR, OK, Texas, Missouri, Shreveport. Some are further than others, but you won’t be 12 hrs from the school. 4th year you can stay at your core site you were at 3rd yr, or you can set up your own rotations wherever you want.

Faculty are supportive and friendly.

They should start offering student housing next month since we just got handed our clinical sites. There were people pulled off waitlist a few weeks before orientation that still got student housing.

Shout out to ARCOM for sending me a secondary now like 5 months after pre-secondary rejecting me 20 minutes after I submitted my primary 🤣 hard pass

Yeah I just send their email straight to the trash bin 😆
Throw Away Norm Macdonald GIF by MOODMAN

I just got the pre-secondary rejection during work, wanting to actually throw my phone across the room lol

I had another school tell me I wouldn't be screened out in a meeting and I was screened out.

Can any current students let us know what to expect across the four days of orientation?
Also, is there any items you wish you had before starting school that you recommend?

it’s basically just 4 days where they go through what to expect, you get some Q&A opportunities, some breakout rooms where you learn some of the skills you need to succeed, you get your CPR certification, and a few other things.

Just a couple of questions:
1. What is the weekday schedule like for first year? How many classes in a day and how much do they take of your time?
2. What resources do you use for practice problems? Do professors offer practice problems or do you need to use 3rd party resources.
3. If I’m not mistaken, I believe there’s a summer anatomy bootcamp for incoming first year students. If you’ve taken it before, did you find helpful?

1. the weekday schedule depends, for most of first semester we had class from 9-12 (3 lectures). once you go to the anatomy lab, anatomy lectures are required. pretty much all OPP lectures are required bc they're associated with a lab. any lecture that has a guest lecturer is also a required lecture. in the afternoons, there'd be OPP lab once a week for 2 hours (i think they're sticking with tuesdays?) and anatomy lab once a week once you get in the lab. there's also some standardized patients and other stuff in the afternoons but mostly you have the afternoons off. it's a really nice adjusting schedule and there's a lot more study time than one would think. second semester, we've had class mostly starting at 8 and going to noon (so 4 lectures), lab for OPP and anatomy, and standardized patients. we still have a decent amount of study time but you have to be able to manage your time.
2. we have lecturio and truelearn for practice questions and i really like them. i use them before each exam to make sure im able to think through the type of questions we'll need to. the library also has a long list of resources that have practice questions and some practice anatomy stuff as well.
3. i did not do the summer bootcamp but i heard it was helpful if you have not had cadaveric experience 🙂

hope this helped! let me know if you have any more questions!

Thank you, that’s super helpful!
I’m assuming that lecurio and truelearn align well with the lectures? I’m thinking about doing the summer bootcamp remotely so hopefully I’m not missing out on a lot.

here's a screenshot of a random week in Feb. Since there are 2 groups you only go on the group you're assigned. so there's a lab on Wednesday and a lab on Friday, but you only go to one. Also the practical exams you are given a time slot but they schedule out the whole block. This is the school calendar so it's across the board for everyone. I personally make a copy of it and delete all the other groups/make my times specific to me.

Received "Accepted Pending Space" email yesterday. Mixed feelings, but mostly happy! I liked the school & campus a lot but I am still waiting on some MD decisions.

For current students, was it easy to make friends/meet people? Or is there no time for that lol.

Does ARCOM provide iPads?
no technology stuff, you get your medical bag with all your "doctor stuff" but that's it

i 100% recommend going to the school website and make sure your technology fits the tech standards so you can get a new computer or whatever if needed!
