Honestly, I think it depends on your statsIs it considered late in the cycle for AACOMAS? I know for app like TMDSAS it's considered really late. I have an interview coming soon with ARCOM and wanted to see what the chances of acceptance after interviewing and any info on class sizes/waitlist sizes.
Most DO schools still interview until March and still pull people off the waitlist in July. Like the other one said, it really depends on your stats and your mission fit. For ARCOM interview, it's closed-file, with a faculty and a community member. They only want to see if you're personable and see if you will be able to handle med school rigors. ARCOM usually has result within 2 weeks. They only send secondary invitation to apps they like, and then only interview people they want to accept. The CEO/president of the school said during the interview day that statistically 1 in 4 will be accepted. Now if you already have interviews at other schools, or already have an acceptance, you might want to consider the fact that ARCOM's interview will be in-person so there's money invested there (unless you have a virtual interview). Otherwise, I'd say if they're still sending interview invitations out, it means they have seats to offer. Class size is 150-170Is it considered late in the cycle for AACOMAS? What were your stats ?
That’s okay! I respect that.I don’t share my stats (with quite literally anyone, even my partner lol). They weren’t the worst and weren’t the best, I’ll say that. I had to take the MCAT a couple times and I have a post-bac which helped + tons of experience

How do you feel about the schedule and curriculum? Is it too dense/heavy...? Does the school provide any studying materials (and equipment)? TIA2nd year here, feel free to ask me questions!
2nd year with my experience:How do you feel about the schedule and curriculum? Is it too dense/heavy...? Does the school provide any studying materials (and equipment)? TIA
Thank you so much for this detailed review. Was housing available when you got your acceptance or you also had to be on waitlist? I heard there's non available right now.2nd year with my experience:
Overall, am I happy at ARCOM? Yes. Its a decent school and will get you to where you need.
COMLEX pass rates: Our most recent data has ARCOM at the national ave for Level 1 and above the national ave for COMLEX Level 2.
Match: Don't need to worry about this as ARCOM has always performed really well in the match (both match rate AND placing students into competitive specialties).
Curriculum: Has changed a bit for first year students once I started my 2nd year. Overall, imo it has changed for the better.
-Anatomy: is now a year long with material spread out rather than being crammed into one semester like I had it as an OMS-I. Yes you will be doing full dissections in Lab. And you still have to go in outside of dissections to study. Lecture: what you would expect of anatomy at any med school, detailed and heavy. But again....you will have it spread out over a year vs 1 semester like we did.
-BECOM (aka biochem, physio, path, micro, pharm): Will take BECOM every semester during pre-clinical years. BECOM-1 is now 6 exams which gives more cushion. No issues with BECOM-2 (aka normal physio) and BECOM-3 (aka abnormal physio), our class did well on exams overall (and you will have 6-7 exams so one below ave exam score never puts you at risk of failing). Lecture material is not really high yield for boards and either over emphasizes some stuff or under emphasizes other stuff (nothing unique to ARCOM-this is general consesus at any DO school). Can't speak for BECOM-1 as its changed, but BECOM-2 and 3: exams every 3 weeks covering 20-28 lectures. So yes, its dense and heavy, but nothing unique to ARCOM.
OPP (aka OMM): Not time consuming at all (lecture or lab). 2 hr lab once a week, 1-2 lectures per week (same day as lab). Practicals are P/F and you do whatever technique the dice or wheel lands on. If you fail a practical, you get a retake (diff grader and diff technique). Most students start studying a week before the lecture/practical, but I recommend doing a little bit throughout the block.
FOPC(aka clinical class-lecture&lab): has changed quite a bit from how it was for us last yr. Its more spread out and goes at a slower pace for 1st years. Lab:"doctor" stuff, SIM labs, standardized patient encounters. Standardized Patient Practicals will consist of 14 min inside the room taking full history and physcial exam, then 9 min to type SOAP note. You get 2 encounters, and you need to pass 1 of them to get a "pass" for the practical.
Living:
-Many of us live on campus at the Residents or Village at Heritage. Both are comfortable, clean, utilities, internet etc included, and couple min walk to campus.
-Campus police provide 24/7 safety and security
Materials/Equipment:
-School will give you a medical bag at the beginning of the year with all the equipment and stethoscope
-School provides Truelearn question bank, lecturio, and online med ed. Sketchy, boards and beyond, pathoma, Uworld, etc you will need to purchase. You don't have to worry about purchasing resources until second year when you actually start preparing for boards. But do purchase sketchy for micro and anatomy bootcamp for anatomy lab for the 1st year.
Remediation: How it was for us
69.5 to pass each class
-becom-1=take remediation exam upon returning from winter break (covers the entire semester). If you fail remediation exam, you repeat the year.
-anatomy (overall grade=lecture and lab combined below 69.5)=they let you advance to spring semester, but you retake the blocks you failed over the summer. Fail in the summer=repeat the year.
Feel free to reach out with any questions!
I'm hoping that they start calling on Dec 16 (Monday). But for what I saw on last year's thread, they start pulling people off the waitlist all the time Dec-April. Some even got the acceptance call on a Sunday at 7PM, I think.do adcom look at waitlist after dec14 after deposit deadline or only in april/may Any idea how it happened last year or year before that.
Waitlist movement usually happens in April/may. ARCOM tends to have pretty good waitlist movement and quite of bit of students get pulled from itdo adcom look at waitlist after dec14 after deposit deadline or only in april/may Any idea how it happened last year or year before that.
So when you sign up for housing, they naturally put you on the waitlist because housing is usually filled completely. I was also on waitlist. Once 2nd year students find out about clinical rotation placements, quite a bit opens up. If you are on the waitlist now, you won’t have an issue getting housing. We had students pulled off waitlist later in the cycle and still got on campus housingThank you so much for this detailed review. Was housing available when you got your acceptance or you also had to be on waitlist? I heard there's non available right now.
How do you feel about personal time for self-studying and extracurricular activities/shadowing?
You will have enough personal time for self-studying. For the average student like me, time outside of studying is usually pretty limited. I was putting in 70-80 hrs per week of studying just to get decent grades. Don't get me wrong, you can relax for a few hours Fri evening and watch a TV show, etc. Extracurriculars, just do what you can handle and enjoy. For me, I was just part of student organization for the specialty I'm interested in.Thank you so much for this detailed review. 9 minutes to SOAP? I’m in a SMP currently and accepted to ARCOM 2025 BUT at the free clinic where I’m a “med student” it takes me like 30 minutes lmao. I’m assuming it’s typed though?2nd year with my experience:

Yes 9 min to type an entire soap note from Subjective to Plan. I struggled with the timing initially because I'm not a fast typer. I usually finish right on the dot now (with a bunch of typos and grammetical errors mixed in haha)9 minutes to SOAP? They will be sending out more information "in the next couple of days"
I think according to the traffic rule, it is now due 30 days after the acceptanceWhen is the second deposit deadline?
Congrats what were your statsA!!!! Interviewed 11/22. Waitlisted (not "pending space" just plain waitlisted) 12/6. Official acceptance 12/16!
Call them! Tabitha I believe at IT helped me. I had the same issue. The email they send is pretty crappy tbh. It’s a 2 min fix from IT.For those of you that have already paid your deposit: I am trying to log into my email but I do not remember receiving a username/password. I had always used my purl account.
The email I received for login to school email had this:
you were provided login credentials (username/password) to the Student Portal. You will use those same credentials for logging into your email. If you have reset your initial password, please use your current password.
The login credentials could be something coming tomorrow but I wanted to see if I missed something. Thanks.
Do you know if there's a group chat for accepted students? For those of you that have already paid your deposit: I am trying to log into my email but I do not remember receiving a username/password. I had always used my purl account.

I found the email with my login credentials in my Spam. But the link to log into Student Portal didn't work for me. I was able to create the acheedu.org email though. I called IT support but he couldn't give me another link to access Student Portal, either, however he gave me access to an alternate platform.I was told they make them all manually and sometimes it just takes IT longer to get through the list than it takes for the automated emails to send out. We aren't the only applicants.
We aren’t the only applicants? What are you talking about? The only people who get that email are the ones who put down a deposit.I was told they make them all manually and sometimes it just takes IT longer to get through the list than it takes for the automated emails to send out. We aren't the only applicants.
What was your statsI withdrew my A on 12/10. Hoping it goes to one of y'all 🙂
The school is amazing! My friend is a resident and almost done and he loved it! Happy for you !My acceptance letter was mailed to my door right on Christmas Eve. It came in a folder that's like a white coat (letter size) with my name and DO on the front pocket. I swear I'm getting more in love with this school more and more each day. The care they put in is just unmatched.
Has anyone got this email and was later offered an interview / A ?Received what I think is a pre-secondary hold. OOS (TX Resident). It says I haven’t been selected to move forward at this time. “Please know this is not a denial.”. Has anyone else gotten this?
Also wondering the same!Has anyone got this email and was later offered an interview / A ?
You should be receiving a letter of acceptance in a DO paper white coat that has your name within the next week or 2. It's pretty cool. Also, your banner won't be sent until you place your deposit. So, once your deposit is in give it a week or so for the banner with a written note from Kelly welcoming you to ARCOM.Hi all-
1. I have not received anything in the mail as far as my official acceptance letter goes. I was accepted 12/16. When should I expect this?
2. I work A LOT and will be out of town a lot this year so I have to plan for the requirements and what not- when do you have to do the background check and drug test and all that jazz by? When do they send out the information for this?
3. Do a lot of people live off campus? Is it more expensive to live off campus?
