See email below. I know some students were asking about what the email said so I just copied the first part of it:
"Hello. Thank you for your interest in Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine. It was a pleasure meeting you on interview day.
The admissions committee has met and, at this time, placed you on the WAITLIST. However, please do not let that discourage you. We hope to be able to offer you a seat at ARCOM for next year, just cannot guarantee anything at this point.
Seats typically open up after each deposit deadline, as applicants decide to not accept an offer. In addition, each year, medical schools around the country experience what we call "melt". This is when an applicant who has previously accepted a seat decides to attend a different medical school, which give the medical school opportunity to offer that newly vacant seat to someone on the waitlist. Both situations are common.
Throughout this process, please keep all information updated in AACOMAS and send us an email to let us know that updates have been made -
[email protected]. Our waitlist is
not ranked; we will continue to review your application and let you know if we are able to update your admissions status."
