just got an II, does anyone know which campus it'll be you're interviewing for? Also what are the chances of A?

OMS3 on KC campus - feel free to PM me if you have questions!

My biggest advice from my experience assisting on interview days is to attend the on-campus interview if possible. The interviewers are way less critical in person.

OOS II, on my primary I selected both campuses, however, after researching the schools more I realized that I would only like to attend KCU, is this something I can change? Also, is there any benefit from interviewing in person or should I just save myself the money

When I went to the prospective student presentation the admissions woman said there’s no benefit at all. Whatever is more convenient.

how much of a disadvantage (or advantage) is interviewing in November? I got an II today and my earliest virtual II is in November while in person at Joplin is Oct. Also after the interview how long does it usually take for a decision to be made?

Not a disadvantage, and usually 6-8 weeks.

It says my letters of rec are incomplete but I sent them to AACOMAS. Anyone else have any trouble with this? Would it let me submit with their status being incomplete.
did you figure this out, i have same question

Pre secondary R today. Stats for those curious: 506 MCAT (124/125/127/130), 3.28cGPA 3.11sGPA. Good luck everyone else 🫡

hello for those who got the "interview" on the KCU portal, when did it show up? I just submitted my secondary application and the fee but it shows that my letter of recommendations are missing. When I called, they said they update it themselves. So, I am wondering if it would show up after they update the letters?

It randomly popped up at around 12 pm ish est the day I got the II, which popped in my email officially that evening at 7.

I applied pre-late but I am just nervous now since everyone is getting it and I still didn't receive anything yet. I did just submit my secondary like 2 days ago.

Not late at all just remember that! This process unfortunately requires ungodly amounts of patience.

I know people who submitted in December last cycle and were admitted to the “top” DO programs.

Comparison is the thief of joy!!

It will pop up if they choose to invite you for an interview- it will pop up that afternoon. I got mine approx 4 weeks after all of my secondary and LOR were marked complete

I'm getting nervous about my upcoming interview with this school. it's my first one, so I don't want to mess up, but gosh, it nerve wracking. How are people preparing? to those who already had it, what did you do that helped you through it? were there any surprise questions you felt gave you a hard time?

just fyi they have you sign an NDA so you likely won’t get answers

Did the interview survey not work for anyone else? It said the survey was no longer accepting responses for the 2023-2024 cycle (last year).

I interviewed but never received the survey and it still is incomplete in my workday account

Going off of this - does anyone else who interviewed yesterday have the interview complete in your workday account? Mine was complete yesterday

I’ve been informed that I’ve not been selected for an interview at this point, but will continue to be considered throughout the cycle. I’d appreciate some advice as I’m quite gutted, MCAT 512, science GPA 3.7, non-science GPA 3.8, and Canadian Citizen.

Maybe personal statement or secondary essays? Do you have volunteering and clinical experiences?

Hi! Yes I have volunteering experience (more than 1000 hours), lots of other ECAs, long term employment, and clinical experience (on the lower side, around 400 hours). And I believe my personal statement and essays were done to the best of my ability, I spent a lot of time on them, but perhaps they’re lacking somewhere 🙁

Did you have why you want to specifically be a DO in anything?

I don’t think you’d have been yield protected as I have similar stats to you

Hmm so in my personal statement I was advised not go into why DO but more why medicine since secondaries would address the DO part, and for other schools that’s where I went into it. However I felt KCUCOM’s essays were all really different than other secondaries I’ve done (they asked specific questions about life scenarios for the most part) so perhaps I didn’t really go into why DO for them? :/

Honestly, I hate to say it but with those stats it might only be because of your international status. I know it is much more challenging historically for most schools as an international applicant. However, if you don't hear anything in a month or two it might be worth sending a letter of intent or just overall updates to them for further consideration
