Do you guys think LM scores really matter whether you'd get an interview? Mine's 65 and MSUCOM's says their score is also 65, not sure if it's correlated.

Their LM according to DO explorer average MCAT/GPA would be 67. It’s also definitely not correlated

Yea last year I didn’t even get an II LM was ~80

LM scores dont matter, I feel like their more used to see what range of people a certain school takes

IS II Received today. LM 69. MSU undergrad student. Submitted secondaries 8/3/25

Guys be honest and blunt, this schools my only chance to stay with my family and friends, I got a LM of 64, do I have a chance, I submitted secondaries same day as the time they sent them, stacked in every category possible top 5-10% with a 3.95, top 30% overall in all science sections. I got a 498 tho bc cars 120 single handedly killed me, do y'all still think I have a chance 😢. I rly wish this school wasn't prestigious so I could stay in my home state
I hear you. I'm also a Michigan resident and would love to stay home. Don't lose hope. It is really early in the application cycle; some people get accepted to their respective programs mere weeks before the white coat ceremony. It is a crazy process. I am hoping you get in; I have heard of people with similar MCAT scores getting accepted. If you don't get accepted anywhere in-state, don't panic. There are some great programs not too far outside of Michigan (most notably LECOM). It may seem like the end of the world to move away, but there are a lot of great things that can come from it as well. It might help you stay focused, you might make some lifelong friends, and in any case, after medical school, you can always come back home. It is easier said than done, but try not to worry about what is currently outside of your control. Wishing you the best of luck this cycle!

OOS II today! Strong ties to MI.

Yes. I submitted secondaries on Aug 3rd and received an II on Sep 11th. I’m IS and went to MSU for undergrad
I’m also in-state, went to MSU for undergrad and submitted July 28th. What were your stats if you don’t mind me asking?

Cumulative gpa 3.85
MCAT 507
I sent you much more details in PM if you were curious!

I know it’s probably still early but when do you guys think would be the best time to send a letter of intent or interest before receiving an interview?

Intent is crazy before you have an interview. Interest/update is fine but should probably hold off a little longer. Looks like they’re starting with high stats and their own BS/DO students for interviews.

When do you think we should expect to hear back after interviews?

Yeah that’s what I meant I didn’t know which you send before the interview. Okay thank you !

Had the interview today; it was super chill and there weren't really any surprise questions. I totally think I bombed it though - I froze up in there.

Thought I was complete as of 7/19 but got an email this morning saying my secondary hadn't yet been received. Hopefully just a one off thing but putting it here as a PSA to make sure you actually submitted. Yikes lol.

Is anyone else’s portal messed up? I used to be able to access the side bar but I can no longer

+1 OOS II this morning. Are they still accepting people atp or will I be interviewing for the WL?

They run a much later cycle so def for an A not necessarily a WL

Hi y'all! Quick question: my app for Michigan was complete around the 18th of September. What is the estimate range of time that they might respond? Around a month or two? Nothing is certain, of course.

LOL I submitted in the beginning of June and heard back a little over a week ago...so a bit slow

Did anyone else who did the pre-interview session feel they were a bit disparaging towards MDs and MD schools? Maybe I got the wrong read but I can't shake it.

How so? They share curriculum and campus with their MD counterparts and I’m pretty sure there were talks of merging their two schools. What gave you that feeling?

I heard about the possible merger as well, but it seemed like they had no interactions with the MD school academically at all. It was stated that initially there was more interaction between MD/DO students than there is now

Had my interview today, do you guys think it’s a good idea to send a thank you letter? Would just send that in the portal?
