2025-2026 Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSU-COM)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I heard about the possible merger as well, but it seemed like they had no interactions with the MD school academically at all. It was stated that initially there was more interaction between MD/DO students than there is now
Oh most definitely, half the MD class is in Grand Rapids. I meant moreso they were similar enough in the medical education that talks of the merger started

How did it go? any advice?
It wasn’t bad, my interviewer was a little stoic, so I wasn’t able to get a read on how she felt about me. But the questions themselves were pretty simple. Nothing that really threw me off or anything

I received an interview invite earlier this week

They haven’t gotten back to their BS/DO students yet who they interviewed months ago. They’re running very late this cycle. Give it a few weeks IMO. COM cycle runs close to start time
dawg I Lowkey regret not doing the bs/do program, anyone could get in (I had a 4.2/4.0 GPA in HS and a 1280 SAT), I just didnt know about its existence

How so? They share curriculum and campus with their MD counterparts and I’m pretty sure there were talks of merging their two schools. What gave you that feeling?
I have heard all of this too but the gentleman who did the pre-interview session seemed to go out of his way to make it clear that they are not at all affiliated.

+IS A 🙂

How was the interview experience, and the questions? Was it more conversational or more harder? Was the questions mmi or traditional? I’m worried bc it’s only one interview for 30 mins so don’t know what to expect bc usually my interviews are two rounds one traditional one mmi

anyone with a sub 500 mcat get an interview or acceptance?

I interviewed on Sept 29th and have not heard back yet. Am I cooked?

I signed up for both informational sessions with current students and the admissions but ended up missing both sessions. Would it hurt my application for missing the meetings?

They are optional haha, I think it's just to give us info and attend on our own time.

I hope so, LOL. I told my mentor and she said I should reach out to school and explain why I missed the meetings. But kinda don't want to do it and just keep my head low.

I really don't think it plays a role in admissions decisions haha, thank you!

IS wailisted, interviewed 09/30. I thought the interview went well, but I guess it's better than an R.
I interviewed on 10/3 same week as you, but I'm an OOS applicant, hopefully I'll hear back soon! What was your LM?
