Also got this and it’s different from someone I saw on Reddit where in that email it said they had 15,000 apps etc. wondering if it matters which version we got 😭

I think you are right; I submitted 9/17 and just got the email. AWSOM sent out similar update emails, and it's honestly pretty nice hearing that there is still progress happening and that the applications aren't just being lost to the void lol

nevermind i got it just now LOL, but its the evaluator looking at my credentials before an interview.
Well I mean it says we are progressing to the next step so its probably neutral to potentially good. Like I said, no point in reading too much into it atp.

On Reddit I saw some people got this version: “Thank you for submitting your application to Rush Medical College. The admissions committee is currently assessing your materials to determine the next steps in our evaluation process.
Given that we have received 15,000 applications in this cycle, this stage may require additional time. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we conduct a comprehensive and careful review.”
The one I got said “We are pleased to notify you that your application has progressed to the next stage of our admissions process. At this juncture, an additional evaluator will undertake a thorough assessment of your credentials to further determine your eligibility for an interview. This review will include a careful analysis of how your experiences and aspirations correspond with the mission and values of our program.”
Wondering if it matters which version

do you think the “moved to new evaluator” email is a good thing? or do you think this is just part of the process and everyone will get here eventually. the “pleased to inform you” bit has me reading into things

I see it as a neutral to slightly positive thing at best. We have no idea how many steps their process has or what their timeline looks like BUT the second email reads like you’ve gotten farther in their process than the first email (the one I received). An update is an update after all. Maybe I’ll receive that second email eventually who knows

Here's hoping! I was doing a mock interview when I got it but I'm just catching up and it looks like two different messages are being sent to applicants as a status update. Interesting.
Dr. Minh Le on YouTube made a video on it where some schools do two reviewer process. Forget which school it was. Maybe Rush is doing it now too.

Me. But they’re definitely still reviewing those applicants. There’s no way everyone who got that email on Friday has already been further received AND/OR a decision has been made

I mean they sent the email on Friday and its only been like three days since then. No way they will make a decision that quickly let alone work over the weekend.

Gives me some hope. Im lower stat, but got the conisidered for interview email. I was complete 09/04/2025 but I dont have ties. I think im a strong mission fit. I sent an update letter so hopefully it helps
